{Last Minute Mother’s Day Ideas: Free Digi Templates!}

If any of you are like me, you are still trying to decide what to get your moms and mothers-in-law for Mother’s Day! :) So I have a few little digital scrapbooking project ideas that might help you out. You can still get them done in time, especially if you are Photoshop-savvy and have a printer or a photo lab nearby. :)

For personal use only, no commercial use please. Please do not share links, just direct people to this post if they want to download. I’d love for you to say hi if you decide to download! :)

Photo Collage

So my cute brother got married last June, and for one of their wedding gifts I made them a personalized The Family: A Proclamation to the World for their home. I took 14 favorite engagement photos that I took for them and arranged them around the text of the Proclamation in Photoshop, and printed as an 11×14 photo, then had the whole thing framed. I was really happy with how it turned out and now I need to find some time to make one for US! :) I thought this would be a great Mother’s Day gift that you still have time to make!

Grab some photos of your kids or things your mom likes, and add them to the template using clipping masks. You can leave the Proclamation text in the middle or add another large photo, a poem, handprints of the grandchildren, whatever you want! It’s completely customizable.

I wanted to share the 11×14 inch layered template for it you want it, it’ll save you some time. :) The zipped file includes layered TIFF files (one with the Proclamation text and one without) as well as basic instructions for digiscrappers. If you need a better tutorial on how to use this template (using “clipping masks” in photoshop), please visit this link: Clipping Masks.

Circle Mini Album Template

A few years ago I made a cute circle mini album for Mother’s Day. I made it in Photoshop and used lots of pics of my kids–their grandmas loved it! :) I created a layered template if you would like to download it and make one for your mom/grandma this year!

These are my samples that I made with it, using products from Digital Scrapbook Memories:
You add your own photos and digital scrapbooking paper and embellishments and journaling, print them out, cut them out, and then adhere to chipboard circles or cardstock or I even have instructions in the file of putting them on old CD’s! :) They are sized to fit standard CDs. Use Mod Podge (gotta love it) to glue it all down and then to seal it, and you’re good to go!

Mini Paint Can Insert

Have you seen those darling little clear paint cans at the craft store? I LOVE using them for all occasions, holidays, baby showers, you name it! You can fill them with treats and little gifts and they are awesome. I like to make “inserts” that you slip inside the paint cans and they always turn out so cute!

I’ve made them for my kids’ school teachers, as seen here:

(Both made by products from GG Digital Designs.)
I’ve made Halloween ones:
I made one for Mother’s Day too! This is what the digital file looks like (I haven’t taken a pic of the finished product):

(supplies from Digital Scrapbook Memories)

If you wanted to make one for yourself, the dimensions are 13.5 by 4.25 inches. I print two of them on an 11×14 sheet at Costco, cut them out and then then I slip the insert into those small clear paint cans that I usually buy at Roberts.

I have created a free download for you–with 2 print-ready Mother’s Day inserts (on a 11×14 page) that you can simply send off to Costco or your favorite photo lab, cut them out and then put them inside a paint can! Fill the can with Mom’s favorite treats, lotion, bath salts, etc. She’ll love it! :)

Thanks!! I’ve made a Proclamation to the Family with real photos (it was a BIG PAIN cutting them all correct!) How smart to use a template in Photoshop?!? I wish I’d thought of the idea myself! ;D
