I was pretty excited when a box of goodies from Mod Podge arrived on my doorstep! But was totally shocked when I opened it up and it seemed to never end-there were so many new products!
We’ve all seen the crazy things that have been Mod Podged–like cars. This project wasn’t as big as a car–but it was definitely a stretch for me. My husband knows how much I love mixed media art and totally encouraged me to makeover this laptop for the kids. If he wasn’t there pushing me to do it, I’m pretty sure I would have backed out!
I started by Mod Podging book pages to the top of the computer and then added some paint for added color. I was excited to try out Mod Podge’s Crackling Medium. After I’d applied a thick coat and let it dry I painted the blue color over the top. And like magic, when the paint dried it left little cracks–it the first time I’ve use Crackling in mixed media and I quite liked it. I added my paper pieces and then finished it off with another coat of Mod Podge.
While I was waiting for my coats of paint and Mod Podge to dry I whipped up this little necklace for a special Diet Coke lover I know. I think the rectangle Podgeable actually makes it look like a can of Diet Coke. Using the new Podgeables from Mod Podge made this project a snap! I just printed off the Diet Coke label, traced around the shape, cut it out, and Mod Podged it to the back of the Podgeable. I added the wire heart and the chain and it was finished! So easy!
You can find Mod Podge products at Micheal’s.
As much as I like the clean apple look, my boys are over the moon with the new look.
