Christmas Card Inspiration 2013

It’s that time of year.  Grab your recent family pictures and start making your Christmas cards!

We are lucky to partner with Black River Imaging again, to not only show off the amazing possibilities they have, but to giveaway $150 credit to their site for one lucky reader!

Now onto the cards!

Nikkala is always killing us with her creativity.  This year she is using one of the LOFT shaped cards.  Love these. And I love how she was able to add the smallest details to the front of her card yet it is super fun. The back of the card is a fun twist on the typical newsletter, featuring each member of the family.  She designed her wrap around address labels, also from Black River Imaging to have their return address on the back of the card, and the front will add a fun burst of color to the front of the craft paper envelopes. For Brooke’s card, she used the 5×7 inch wide folded card (Design 25) in the Specialty Shaped Greeting Cards section at Black River Imaging. She designed it in Photoshop using some digital papers and embellishments by Crystal Wilkerson. The “Merry and Bright” word art on the front was from some free Christmas card template downloads from Becky Higgins last year.

BACK OF THE CARD :) (you always need to add an element of surprise, lol!)

This is what the files looked like when ordering the card:

Jamie loves the look of these 5×7 folded specialty cards with the pearl finish.  She’s using the same template as Brooke, but you can see how fun it can be changed up a bit.

Her element of surprise was her kids breaking out into their rat face.  LOVE it!

Kirsten’s card is fun and a bit quirky every year, laden with inside jokes.  This year it seemed fitting for an “insta-Christmas” greeting complete with #hashtags.  She used the simple LOFT 5×7 greeting card. LOFT paper is AMAZING!!!  She loves the LOFT cards since they are thick and beautiful and well-printed.  She will be keeping the back a surprise!!  You never know what you are going to see in there.  @craftykirsten is one silly cat.

My husband likes simple so I decided to go with the LOFT 5×7 greeting card.  It’s double sided and I’ve added a few more pictures from our amazing family shoot done by Heather Cluff Photography with some fun family details.  I want to keep those details a fun surprise until they hit mailboxes across the country.  Christmas-card-2013
