Hey there! It’s Sydney from Tastefully Frugal again and I’m excited to be here today to share with you my latest and greatest secret. One of my goals for 2015 was to wake up earlier every day so I could get more accomplished and spend more dedicated time with my boys. So far I’ve been able to keep that goal and my secret for doing so (and not falling asleep before the kids do) is smoothies. You see, I’m not a coffee drinker and caffeine gives me the jitters. Plus, I am trying to eat healthier too so smoothies fit right into the mix. After doing lots of research online, AKA Pinterest,  I found that smoothies are a great way to help wake you up in the morning and give you energy throughout the day.
I tried a few different fruits and veggie combos and found that the one I’m sharing with you today is not only good for boosting your energy levels but good for the rest of your body too. No matter where you go in winter it seems like someone has the cold or flu. That’s why, especially this time of year, it’s important to give your body plenty of vitamin C. We all know oranges are a great source and cranberries are too. Cranberries and cranberry juice also help keep urinary tract infections away. Plus the two together taste great!
- 1 orange, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup frozen cranberries
- ½ cup ice
- ½ cup greek yogurt
- ½ cup cranberry juice
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth
Not only am I a fan of these but my boys are as well. Lately I’ve been making a double batch when I get up and keeping the second half in the freezer until they wake up. If they don’t finish them, it gives me a nice afternoon snack. What are some ways you keep your energy levels up?
