Super cute party favors made from coffee filters - love the washi tape and bakers twine!

That’s right!  Can you believe that those super cute stamped pockets start from humble cone shaped coffee filters?  They are naturally the perfect shape to hold candy, confetti, snack mix, popcorn, beads, rice, birdseed, temporary tattoos or even small toys!  So, hit the grocery store and your craft stash for a few simple supplies and make coffee filter party favors!

How to make coffee filter party favors

  1. Gather your supplies:  cone shaped coffee filters, small alphabet stamps/ink pad, scissors, washi tape, a small hole punch and bakers twine.
  2. Using your stamps and ink pad, add a message for your party guests:  Happy Birthday, Oh Happy Day, Touch Down, etc.
  3. Trim off the small “tab” from the top edge of the coffee filters.
  4. Fill your pouches and close with a piece of washi tape.
  5. Punch a small hole and tie them closed with a bakers twine bow.

These coffee filter party favors look so cute piled in a basket or displayed on a tray.  Better yet, they are easy to make and perfect to hold a little something for your guests to enjoy on their way home!  You can easily change the message, washi tape and twine/ribbon for any holiday or party theme, too!

Coffee filter party favors are SO easy to stamp, stuff and share for any party!

Personalized Pencil Bags for Back to School

sm pencil bag 6

Sharing these Personalized Pencil Bags today….everything is cuter with some personalization. I found these durable zipper bags at Walmart and thought they would be perfect for all the back to school supplies my kids need.  And using my Cricut Explore and some white iron on vinyl…I was able to personalize them in such a cute way.  In Cricut Design Space I used the “Hello my name is” tag and added my kids names. Before cutting…I made sure to mirror my image. (as with all iron on vinyl)  That is why it is backwards in the photo below! Using my iron setting on high…I ironed over the plastic.  After removing the plastic, I placed a thin towel over my image and ironed some more until it was adhered well. I love how these pencil bags turned out.   Perfect for all those school supplies. Pin It

DIY Love & Arrows Graphic Tee *Cricut Explore

sm love tee 1

Sharing another fun graphic tee I made for my girls using my Cricut Explore.  I love how it turned out.  Love the black & white.  They had so much fun being my little models.  I just shared our Je T’aime design earlier today. Once you know what you would like for your graphic tee, the next steps are so simple, plug in your cricut Explore, connect it to your computer, and then open up Design Space in Cricut and get ready to design. It literally took me 5 minuets to design and manipulate my arrows, heart & letters.  Once it looked good…I loaded my black iron on vinyl…sent it to my machine…(CLICK MIRROR IMAGE), and then hit cut on the machine! So simple, quick and adorable! Using my Cricut scraper tool…I removed extra black vinyl around the arrows, letters, & heart.  I left the plastic covering.  I placed the heart on the shirt and started ironing.  Using a high setting, I ironed right over [Read More...]

We decided on Black & White with pops of gold.  I love French saying and my 7 year old was super excited about je t’aime because she is learning french in school.  Je t’aime means “I Love You.”  We wanted the word cut out of a large gold heart. You guys…the next steps are so simple, plug in your cricut Explore, connect it to your computer, and then open up Design Space in Cricut and get ready to design. Chalkboard T-Shirts

This post is sponsored by Michael’s.  This month’s Michael’s Makers theme is Back to School….do you ever think it’s funny that we associate chalkboards with school, but you couldn’t find a chalkboard in a school these days if you tried! School starts for us next week and I’m excited to send my boys back wearing these fun chalkboard T-shirts. They’ll be great to break the ice with and since we can change what they say every time their personalities can shine though. Plus they’re easy to make! Supplies: T-Shirts Chalk Board Paint Freezer Paper Paint Brush  I cut a stencil out of freezer paper with my Cricut Explore to the lettering, but if you don’t have a cutter you can cut the rectangle shape with scissors. This is just freezer paper from the grocery store, that I guess you’d use to wrap  meat with. I just use it as a screen printing cheat like here. It is fun to use, [Read More...]

Easy Way to Reupholster a Bench

Reupholstered Keyboard Bench 3.1

Hi again Crafting Chicks friends! It’s Leanne from Organize & Decorate Everything. I hope you’re having a fantastic Summer. I’m so happy to be here again this month showing you an easy way to reupholster a bench. It took less than an hour and cost less than $10 in supplies. Let’s start with a before and after. Isn’t it always fun to see them side by side? I love seeing what a big impact a little fabric and some spray paint can have. When Emilee saw the before pic she said, I don’t remember it being that ugly. The first step is to get the bench taken apart. It was an easy process but the most time consuming part was taking the staples out. Start by taking the screws out of the bottom of the bench to take the legs and attachments off. I chose to paint the legs white to match Emilee’s desk. Prime them before painting then paint [Read More...]
