What are Calling Birds you say? Well, that’s our theme for the day!
Hi! I’m Linda from Craftaholics Anonymous® and I’m super excited to be here today! A huge thanks to the lovely Crafting Chicks for having me! I’m sharing a simple gift idea, a DIY Calling Bird Ornament, that doubles as a fabulous gift topper.
Calling Bird Ornament \ Gift Topper
Supplies: Christmas Scrapbook paper, die cutting machine {I used my Silhouette CAMEO}, hemp twine, adhesive roller, and a {not pictured} glue gun.
- I simply cut a bird shape out of the Christmas paper with my CAMEO and then cut a mirrored image to put on the back.
- Then cut about 10″ of twine and hot glue it to the back of one bird.
- I applied adhesive to the back of the mirrored bird. Then pressed wrong sides together to sandwich the twine in the middle making a simple bird ornament.
These cute paper bird ornaments can be hung in a row on a garland or hung on a Christmas tree.
Or added to a gift:
Here I used the calling bird ornament as a gift topper. I layered it with a piece of greenery I snipped from my yard, a gift tag, clothespin, and some lace tied into a bow. Super easy and so pretty!
