4th of July Printables

Patriotic HedBanz

Patriotic HedBanz

We love playing HedBanz!

It’s such a fun game that the whole family can get into.

I’ve created an American version to help you pass the time waiting for fireworks. The kids will have a great time playing Patriotic HedBanz, and can learn a few things about our country’s history and some of our symbols. Heck, the adults might even learn a thing or two.

Paper Firecrackers

Looking for a fun 4th of July themed project you can easily make with your kids? Look no further because it doesn’t get much easier than these Paper Fireworks!

Print and color these Paper Fireworks with your kids! You'll be having fun within minutes! This post may contain affiliate links for your convenience and to assist in the maintenance of this site.

Paper Fireworks

Materials

  • Paper Fireworks Free Printable
  • Colors/Scissors/Tape
  • Streamers (I used a small strip of Oly-Fun)
  • Straw

Step One. Print out the Paper Fireworks Free Printable on regular printer paper. I made most of the designs somewhat generic just in case you want to make these all Summer long. Also included a blank one just in case any of your kids really want to customize it!

Paper Fireworks Free Printable - Worksheet Step Two. Have your kids color in the designs they want. As I mentioned above, I left the majority of the printable neutral enough to use year round!

Paper Fireworks Free Printable - Color Step Three. Cut a strip of Oly-Fun (or any other light material) into fringe and tape in place at the bottom of the paper firecracker.

Paper Fireworks Free Printable - Streamers Step Four. Fold paper in half and tape edges shut. You’re going to want to make sure everything is pretty airtight or your firework might be a dud!

Paper Fireworks Free Printable - Done! Happy 4th of July!

All that’s left to do is slip the paper firecracker over a straw and blow! The paper will fly through the air to the sounds of glee from your kids! My boys had so much fun with these that they wanted to make a few custom ones to look like rockets. They were entertained for at least half an hour (which is a lifetime when it comes to little kids!) This would be a great project for a bored afternoon, rainy day inside, or even at a 4th of July party to entertain the kids. Hope you all enjoy!

Printable 4th of July Hot Dog Holders

Helllloooo Crafting Chicks Followers! How you doin’? (Imagine me saying that Joey’s voice). My name is Ali from Dream Crafter and I am so excited to be sharing this fun printable with you today.

I’ve always been a sucker for a good printable. There’s nothing more magical then clicking, downloading and printing something right from your home computer and then feeling all cool like you created something magnificent. Every time I use a printable (that someone else created) I’m like, “Yeah…I did my crafting for the day and it turned out really well. I am a super accomplished person and everyone loves me. I think I’ll take my nap now.” And because I know you all feel the same way, I have decided that sharing a printable would be for the best.

May I present to you, the printable hot dog holder! (Literally I could not think of a fancier name for these.)

Printable 4th of July Hot Dog Holders

I made three of these bad boys because, (well lets be honest, having only two different prints would just be crazy talk) and you can click the links below to download them.

RED AND WHITE STRIPE

BLUE AND WHITE STARS

POLKA DOTS

When you print one, just cut on the spots where I wrote “cut” and fold everywhere else. Then just use a little glue stick or tape to make it stay in the shape of a box. I think the glue stick gives it a more finished look, so that’s what I used. But if you are worried about your glue touching your hot dog and dying a slow and painful death from glue stick poisoning, then I would suggest tape. Consult your doctor before printing these. :)

(I think I shouldn’t have done this photo shoot during lunch. I really wish I had a full hot dog in this picture but we won’t mention that and maybe no one will notice. Mums the word!)

Now I am so excited to use these (with full hot dogs in them) at our 4th of July BBQ! Maybe this year my toddlers won’t get ketchup all over their outfits. Ah, who am I kidding? That’s inevitable. At least my guests will look really cool while they’re eating.

Thank you so much for letting me stop by! I had a good time. We should do this again.

This USA Banner can go any where! Hang it from a shelf, on a door, wall, and even on a bike! I’ve always wanted an excuse to deck my kids bikes out in red, white, and blue so I couldn’t pass up the chance with this banner. I love it so much I think I might organize a bike parade for the 4th!

Patriotic Mousse Tarts

Hello Crafting Chicks readers!  I’m Ashley from Simply Designing and I am absolutely THRILLED to be a new contributor here!  Today I am going to show you how to make a delicious and simple Patriotic Mousse Tart with homemade vanilla mousse and handcrafted chocolate stars!  It sounds complicated, but I promise it is actually really simple!

These are the perfect treat to bring to a 4th of July party or any other patriotic celebration!  They look really impressive but aren’t that difficult or time consuming to make!

Patriotic Mousse Tart

Patriotic Mousse Tarts

Ingredients:

  • Store bought shortbread tarts
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Chocolate candy melts, red and blue
  • (3) disposable icing bags

Directions:

First you will want to print out a star template.  You can download my template HERE, or create your own.  Print and place your template on a cookie sheet and place a piece of wax paper over the template.

Next, begin by melting your candy melts in a disposable icing bag.  You can see all of my tips for melting chocolate here but basically, slow and steady wins the race with this task!

Fill your icing bag about half way full with candy melts, twist the end shut and microwave at 40% power for 20-30 seconds at a time.  After every 20 second interval, massage the bag of candy melts.  When the candy melts are close to being done, microwave at 10 second intervals.  When there are just a few chocolate pieces left, simply massage the bag until all of the chocolate is melted.  It is really easy to over heat chocolate in the microwave so be careful!

Cut a small tip off of your icing bag and pipe your stars.

Make Chocolate Stars

If your home is cool you can let your stars set in your home.  However if it is not, you can place your stars into your fridge or freezer to help them set quickly.

Patriotic Chocolate Stars

Next you will create your mousse.

In one bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and 1/8 cup sugar together until smooth and creamy.

In a second bowl, whip the cream, 1/8 cup sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.

Slowly mix cream cheese mixture into whipped cream mixture until smooth and fully combined.

Let the final mixture cool in the fridge for about 30  minutes.

Place the mixture into a disposable icing bag and pipe it into the tarts.  I used a large round icing tip but if you don’t have an icing tip, you can simply cut the tip of the bag off, and pipe the mixture directly from the bag.

Fill a Tart

Top each tart with a chocolate star and enjoy!

These desserts look complicated and impressive, but really only take about 30 minutes of hands on time.  They are so tasty and delicious and look amazing!  And they are sure to be a huge hit at any patriotic, Memorial Day or 4th of July celebration!

Happy celebrating!

Lemonade Stand Printables

Not all lemonade stands are created equal. My husband swears that the best lemonade stands are the ones with ice cold lemonade. And I judge a stand by it’s appearance–if it’s cute that’s all that matters to me.

Know of some kids dying to have a lemonade stand? I’ve created a little “lemonade stand in a box.” My kids would be so excited if something like this arrived in the mail!

Inside the box you’ll find; paper straws, plastic cups, lemonade, and a cute banner! All the makings for the cutest lemonade stand on the block. The papers used are from Crystal Wilkerson.

Just add ice and some cute kids and you’re set!
