Science Teacher Gift Idea - Periodic Element Thank You

Teacher Appreciation week is coming up and I’ve been trying to think of a thoughtful gift to give when I saw these Method Pink Grapefuit Cleaners caught. These are my all time favorite cleaner (they’re even on my Amazon subscribe and save). Nothing freshens up a room like a citrus scent! And well, kids are messy and smelly so I figured teachers will appreciate it as much as mom’s do. When giving teacher gifts I aim for a consumable, something they can enjoy and use up so it doesn’t create clutter. And I try to not give treats or food, unless I know what their favorites are.

Don't Eat the Snowman Free Printable “Don’t Eat Pete” is a favorite game at our house!  We love playing it for family night.  I made a “Snowman Don’t Eat Pete” version to play this week!…Don’t Eat the Snowman!

Sharing a free printable for you!  Print (8×11.5).

Directions:

Place one small candy (m & m’s, & skittles are good ideas for candy) in each square of the “Don’t Eat the Snowman” Sheet. Send a child away from the room and have the remaining children choose which Snowman will be “Pete”.  Have the first child come back and begin eating the candy on each snowman, one at a time. As soon as the child tries to pick up the candy that is on the “Pete” Snowman, everyone yells, “Don’t eat the Snowman!!!!” Let each child have a turn and refill the game board with treats.  Repeat this again and again!
This is also a great game for class parties, family parties, or Family night!  WE love it!

Do your kiddos love coloring pages!?! My littles do! Did you know that there’s a lot you can do with a fun coloring page besides just coloring them!?!

How To Use Coloring Pages For More Than Just Coloring

Hello, Crafting Chick friends! I’m Shelly Dolen from Dolen Diaries and today I’m going to share my coloring page tricks. I love coming up with novel ways to practice the skills my littles are working on at school. They get the practice they need and have fun while doing it.

FREE Printable Pumpkin Coloring Page

Typically when I’m printing out printables, I print two 5x7s. Then I cut the page in 1/2 so we have two learning activities for the price of one. (Click on the photo to print)

Practicing Sight Words with Crayon Resist

Mystery Words: Sight words can be tricky! Make it fun by writing the words in white crayon then have your kiddo watercolor over the crayon. Challenge them to see how fast they can figure out the mystery word.

Odd and Even Number Practice

Odd & Even Numbers: Write odd and even numbers on the pumpkins. Color the odd pumpkins one color and the evens another color.

Patterning with Coloring Pages

Patterning: Practicing making patterns with colors or different jack-o-lantern faces.

Using Coloring Pages for Letter Hunts

Letter Hunt: Write the letters of your preschooler’s name on separate pumpkins and then fill in the rest with random letters. Color only the pumpkins that spell your name. Or simply call out random letter names an have them dob them with a bingo dobber.

Now you have some fun coloring page tricks that will help your kiddos work on skills at home! If you have some tricks up your sleeve please share them! I’d love to add them to the mix!

Family Motto

We’re about a week into the new school year. After a few days we noticed that one of our kids was really grumpy about school. As I was talking to him he mentioned how he only liked to do fun things, and that school is not fun. He is a really smart kid, but school is hard for him. After my rant of “life isn’t fun” I came up with our family motto for the school year.

Family Motto Because, while we don’t expect him to have the top grades in his class or to bring home 100% on every spelling test, we do expect him to try his very best (whether or not it is fun)!

Family Motto

To be sure he never forgets, I’ve hung these signs around the house, and even slipped one in his daily school planner.

Family Motto

To make them, I printed off the motto with a copy machine and ran them through the Minc Machine. Easy as pie.

Minc

And while the family motto received a lot of eye rolling, he thinks the Minc is pretty awesome.

Minc

And I think he’s pretty awesome too!

Psst…Amazon.com has the Minc Machine and foil Starter kit for just $95! That’s a great price if you’ve been wanting one.

If you’re family needs a little reminder to do their very best, you can download our motto below.

I’m curious, do you have a family motto?

Thank You Tags – Free Printables are perfect to add to gifts and presents for any occasion.

Thank You Tags - Free Printables from TheCasualCraftlete.com for TheCraftingChicks.com

Hello there!  It’s Katie from The Casual Craftlete.  I hope you all have been enjoying your summer.  Today I am sharing a few Free Printable Thank You Tags that I have created.  I am a sucker for all occasion crafts and printables.  A lot of times special occasions sneak up on me and I like to have some thank you tags on hand for when that happens.  These thank you tags can be added to gift bags, packages, cards and more.  You can even print several of the Thank You tags and bundle them together with paper favor bags, twine and clothespins and use for a personalized favor packaging gift set.

Thank You Free Printables

I thought since school will be starting shortly, these thank you tags would be nice to add to a teachers gift this school year.  It’s a nice little way to say you are grateful for all their hard work.  I  like adding some small sweet treat to a polka dot kraft bag.  Then I attached the coral thank you tag to a larger tag I made using floral scrapbook paper.  This gives the tag dimension and color.

Free Printable Thank You Tags

For me there are so many times when I want to say thank you with a little gift and these tags make such a wonderful addition. I love making brownies or a plate of cookies and dropping it off to say thank you. It’s nice to quickly grab one of these tags and attach it with a clothespin or some bakers twine and you are all set!

Free Printable Thank You Tags by TheCasualCraftlete.com for TheCraftingChicks.com

I have made three different designs for you to print.  Two of the designs have black typograph with pretty floral frames.  I recommended printing those on kraft cardstock.  I just like the natural look and the brown kraft makes the black ink stand out.  For some fun and color, I made the third design in coral.  Right now coral is my favorite color and just happens to be trendy.  I recommended printing the coral color thank you tag on white cardstock.  Each thank you tag is approximately 2 inches in size.  You can use any 2 inch or larger shape punch to cut the tags out.  The round tags would be cute to use as a seal on a card envelope.

To download the tags, simply click the links below and always remember these printables are for personal use only.

Hi everyone! I hope your summer has been amazing.I’m Kiki from Kiki and Company and we are in full denial that summer is almost over and it’s almost time to head back to school. School is just around the corner and I am trying to squeeze as much time with my kiddos that I can before we are back in full swing again. One of my kids favorite things is to find these sweet little notes in their lunch. It makes them smile and remember how much I love them and is just a fun way to keep their spirits up! How fun are these:

Back to school Lunchbox Laughs.

To use these notes is super simple. Simply download, print and cut out the notes. Then write a sweet little note to your child on the back and place it in their lunch or in their bag.

This post is brought to you by HI-CHEW.

hichew_lunchboxlove

My kids went back to school last week, and as ready as we were for a little routine and more structure in our days it is hard to have your sidekicks gone all day. I miss our lunch conversations and knowing what they are up to and how there day is going. I designed a few HI-CHEW lunchbox notes to go along with their favorite candy that I can add on days they might be worried, or when I just want them to know I love them and are thinking of them!

hichew_fan

Are you familiar with HI-CHEW? It’s the #1 selling candy in Japan, but hasn’t been available in the USA for very long (just since 2008). It has a very unique chewy texture and fruity flavor.
hichew_opened

HI-CHEWs have a long lasting chewy texture and are made with real fruit juice and contain no artificial coloring. They are also gluten free!

hichew_stacked

In the USA there are 5 main flavors of HI-CHEW available; strawberry, grape, cherry, mango and green apple. Grape is by far the favorite in our house! They also come in a regular mix (strawberry, grape, green apple,) and a tropical mix (mango, melon, banana) and you can pick up a 500 gram mix bag from Costco.

hichew_berry

I love you “berry” much!

hichew_grape

Have a “grape” day!

We go easy with our Back to School Breakfast, since the morning can be so crazy.  Here is a fun thing to add to any box muffin mix to give it that fun “back to school” spin!

“Back to School” Muffin toppers!  You can find these mini chalkboard picks at Michaels craft store.  If you can find some on a tooth pick great!  I just took the long ones, and cut them down.

Using a chalk marker, you can add “back to school” sayings, or even your kids’ names and the grade they will be starting.

Add to the top of your muffins…for breakfast or to cupcakes for dessert!   The kids will think you went all out…but it really just takes minutes.
