Last Minute Valentine Printable

valentine printable
Hello and Aloha to all you Crafting Chicks!  It’s Lara from Hapagirl.  Since I have to have knee surgery on the 20th of February I really didn’t feel up to do a lot of decorating  for Valentine’s Day so I created a this free Valentine printable and was so excited to share it with all of you.  I love this frame I found and spray painted gold (I love the look of silver Mercury glass and gold so I tend to mix the two a lot in my decorating).  I keep certain seasonal printables I design in this frame so I am not continually changing everything in my house.

I did this printable 5 x 7 so it will fit a frame or as a Valentine’s card front.  It would also be a darling page to add to a mini album or even in a wedding album.

I have many more projects and ideas on my blog Hapagirl so hope to see you all there too.

Valentine Poppers

Hello there!  It’s Katie from The Casual Craftlete blog.  Have you started thinking about ideas for Valentine’s day yet?  Well, today I am sharing some fun Valentine Poppers.  You can fill these cute poppers with lots of little goodies, confetti and they even making a popping noise!  They are simple to assemble and take around 5 to 10 minutes to make.

Valentine Poppers by The Casual Craftlete for The Crafting Chicks

Valentine’s Day is probably my favorite holiday of the year.  I love all the pretty red and pink colors, flowers, hearts, chocolate and cute gifts.  I had such a fun time making these poppers for my daughter.  She is going to be so surprised to open them on February 14.

Valentine Poppers

Here are the materials I used to make the Valentine Poppers:

  • Toilet paper tubes
  • Cracker snaps
  • Tissue paper
  • Scrapbook paper
  • Curling ribbon
  • Tape
  • Scissors

Fill with:

  • Confetti
  • Small goodies
  • Candy

Here is how I assemble the Valentine Poppers:

How to make a popper using a toilet paper tube

First I started by cutting a toilet paper tube in half.  Next, I took one cracker snap and taped it inside the tube.  Place the middle of the cracker snap where the popper is over the middle of the cut of tube.  I bought the cracker snaps here.

How to make a popper using a toilet paper tube

Here is what the inside of the tube should look like.  Cutting the toilet paper tube makes it easier to break open the popper.

How to make a popper using a toilet paper tube

Roll the tube in a piece of tissue paper.  I taped both the start and end of the tissue paper to the tube, just to secure the paper in place.  Then I cut the end of the cracker snaps with scissors.  You don’t want to see the ends poking out.

How to make a popper using a toilet paper tube

Next, just tie one end of tissue paper using curling ribbon.  I ran my scissors over the back of the ribbon, just to make it even curlier.

You want to wait to tie both ends because you need to fill the popper.

Valentine's Day gifts

There are some of the goodies I used to fill the tube:  Chocolate coins, ice cream rubber erasers, pen, and Hershey Kisses chapstick.  I bought the erasers at Target.  I purchased everything else from Party City.

Confetti

I also added some confetti to the tube, which I made myself by using two different kinds of paper punches.

How to make a popper using a toilet paper tube

The last step is to cut a piece of scrapbook paper to place over the tissue paper.  I used a clear adhesive tape on the inside of the scrapbook paper.  This way you don’t see any tape and everything looks nice and pretty.

Valentine Popper

Here is the finished popper.  Just tear the tube in half and wait for a loud “pop” sound.  Then all the goodies and confetti come falling out.

SO FUN!

Valentine Poppers

Share these Valentine Poppers with your friends, family or someone looking for a “popping” good time.

Hope you all have a lovely Valentine’s Day!

Thank you for letting me share!!

I Mustache You Valentine

Mustache-Valentine-Free-Printable

Every Valentine’s I take my girl’s to the store and let them choose the fun non-candy item they want to give to friends. My oldest this year found these cute fake mustaches at Target this year and so of course I had to make a fun printable to go along with them.  Say “hello,” to a new free Valentine’s printable, “I Mustache You To Be My Valentine!”

I Mustache You To Be My Valentine

So just head to Target and snag these cute mustaches.  They were $1.50 for 8 in the Valentine’s supplies area.

I-Mustache-you-Valentine

Just download the Free Printable, I Mustache You To Be My Valentine, below on some card stock.

Cut the Valentine’s and now you are ready for the fun part.

Mustache-Valentine

Grab some adhesive.  I used some scrapbooking adhesive for these just show it didn’t show and they could peel off easily. Stick the mustaches onto the paper. Then have those cute little hands sign them.

Valentine-Mustache

And there you have it.  A sassy fun Valentine that comes together super quick!  M girls love it and I know your kids will too.

DIY Handwritten Pillowcase

DIY handwritten pillowcase

Hey! It’s Kari from Life PreKARIous. Let’s talk Valentine’s Day… My birthday is in December, my husband’s is in January, and our anniversary is in March, so with all the holidays so close together we have decided not to spend a ton of money on each other for Valentine’s Day. I love it. The gifts we get and give tend to be more sentimental (read: cheesy) and heart felt. Give me ALL the mushy stuff! My gifts to him are usually hand made, and this year is no differnt. I made him a fun DIY handwritten pillowcase.

It is so easy to make and customize! All you need is some fabric markers, a pillowcase, a piece of cardboard, and a ruler. It’s the perfect gift for any occasion, not just Valentine’s Day

DIY handwritten pillowcase

When it comes to what to write on your pillowcase, the options are endless! I thought it would be fun to make it something that was special to my husband and I. I’m telling ya, mushy is best!

We were married in Las Vegas by the king himself, Elvis. Swoon. So, I decided to use lyrics to a fun, Elvis love song.

DIY handwritten pillowcase

You’ll want to put a piece of cardboard in between the pillowcase. It makes it easier to write on and also prevents the ink from bleeding through to the other side. I used a ruler to make sure I was writing in a straight line.

DSC_0452

I repeated the lyrics 3 times in order to cover the whole thing. And how adorable is this handmade pop up Valentine card I found [HERE]? It’s perfect!

Now, let the love fest begin! 😉

How To Make Free Artwork

Follow these easy steps to making your own free artwork! Includes link to free printables!

Hello to all the lovely Crafting Chicks! My name is Vanessa Brady and I’m usually found making crafty tutorials over on my blog, Tried & True, but today I’m super excited to be sharing this project with you. I’m a huge fan of all the gorgeous free printables that so many generous bloggers share but sometimes I don’t know quite what to do with them. Why not turn them into free artwork for your walls?! The process is super easy and even someone with zero artistic talent can make a piece of art they can be proud of!

How To Make Your Own Artwork

Materials:
This post may contain affiliate links for your convenience.

Step One. Print off the free printable of your choice in the correct size to fit your painting canvas. Unless you’re really comfortable with painting, I would suggest you start with a fairly easy print with large type. Most of my T&T Original Coloring Prints work perfectly for this!

How To Make Free Artwork - Print
Step Two. Cut a piece of the graphite paper to fit the canvas and tape in place, ink side down. Secure free printable over graphite paper with more tape and begin to trace the image. Go slowly and carefully because all the lines you create (including any mess ups!) will be transferred to the canvas. Some of it you can just paint over but some you won’t!

How To Make Free Artwork - Trace
Step Three. Once you have completed tracing the entire image, remove both papers to reveal the artwork. Now it’s time to start painting in! Take your time but don’t worry too much about shaky hands or uneven lines. We want it to look handmade, not perfect!

How To Make Free Artwork - Add Paint
Step Four. Continue painting until entire piece is covered. You can either leave it like this or…

How To Make Free Artwork - Painted
Step Five. Outline the edges with a black paint pen to finish the piece off. I think most of my T&T Original Coloring Prints look better with the black outline but try it both ways, maybe you’ll like it better with just solid color!

How To Make Free Artwork - Outline
Hope you found this tutorial easy and helpful in making your own free artwork! With as many free printables that are on the internet, your options are almost limitless. Thanks for having me and see you next month!
