The Softest Sugar Cookies
- 1 c. sugar
- ½ c. butter
- ½ c. sour cream (don't skip this part!)
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla (or a little more:)
- ½ tsp almond extract (only if you want, adds a little something extra:)
- 3 cups flour for drop cookies, 3¼- 3½ (for roll out cookies) flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- Cream together sugar, egg, softened butter, vanilla, and sour cream. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients. Slowly add this to your sour cream mixture. Mix well. For best results, refrigerate for 1-2 hours. You can either roll out the dough and use your favorite cookie cutters, or you can drop and flatten balls evenly on your cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 6-7 minutes. Don't over bake.
