Ah Back to School time!  Sending the little ones off and then turning around to bake up a storm for the school Bake Sales.  Sound familiar?

We have teamed up with 35 other great bloggers and The McCormick Kitchen to bring you a virtual Bake Sale.  No need to reach into your pockets.  We are providing you with a bunch of cookie and brownie recipes with a twist.  Just to make your Bake Sale goodies stand out from the rest.  You know you wanna be the mom who’s treat are snagged before everyone else’s right?!  We are here to help with that.

Each of the 36 bloggers have been split up into teams of 6 and we are competing against 5 other teams through Pinterest.  If you PIN my recipe, and the recipes from my team members, we can get some great bragging rights, but even better than that….YOU could WIN too!!! More on that after the recipe.

The McCormick Kitchens have many wonderful recipes and tips. I was inspired by the Double Chocolate Chunk Orange Cookies to bring you this yummy Orange and Cream Cookie!  These are sweet with that orange tang to them.  I loved them and can’t wait to share the recipe with you!

Orange Cream Cookies

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 firmly packed brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons orange extract
tablespoons orange zest
2 cups Vanilla Chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and creamy. Beat in egg, vanilla, and orange extract until smooth. Gradually add flour mixture until combined. Stir in orange zest and chips.

Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8 – 10 minutes or until golden brown around edges. Cool for several minutes on cookie sheets before transferring to rack to cool completely. Store in airtight container.

There you have it!  Yummy Orange Cream Cookies! Just ready for the Bake Sale.

Make sure you stop by my team-members sites and check out their tasty treats! 1267010_513154298777550_1375688907_o

My favorite treat I ever bought from a bake sale were mini brownie muffins with chocolate chip cookie dough bites in the middle. My fave recipe from this virtual bake sale would probably be the Triple Chip Crownies, but I must make them all and taste them first. That would be only fair, lol!
