Little Drummer Boy Gift Tag::Bloggers Best 12 Days of Christmas

day12

Hello there! I’m Laura from Inspiration for Moms and I am thrilled to be hanging with the Crafting Chicks today! I’m sharing with you an easy gift printable for the theme of twelve drummers drumming. When I think of drummers, I am reminded of one of my favorite Christmas songs…The Little Drummer Boy. So I took that song and combined it with a classic drummer boy silhouette to make some darling gift tags.

Little Drummer Boy Printable Gift Tag

These tags are a great way to add a little traditional Christmas to your special gifts. And they’re perfect if you’re up at 2 am wrapping those last minute gifts and need some very creative tags. 😉 See there, I gotcha covered!

Hello! I’m Ginger, & I blog over at GingerSnapCrafts.com. I am sooooo excited to be over here with the Crafting Chicks today. :) Over on my blog I love sharing easy, simple & fun projects, recipes & ideas. I’m also a mom to 5 kiddos, & I have one amazing husband. I hope to see you around sometime over on my blog. :) This Joy to the World block is so, so easy to put together. Shhhh! These are actually our neighbor gifts this year. 😉 We can make a bunch at once, they are really inexpensive to make, & they turn out super cute. So keep reading to get the tutorial. :)
You’ll need a few supplies to get started:
  • 2×4 cut into a 7 inch block
  • this image from the Silhouette store
  • Joy to the World vinyl (cut with my Silhouette)
  • white acrylic paint or spray paint
  • sand paper
  • ribbon
First I painted my block white. It took two coats of paint, & then I let it dry really well. Then I distressed it slightly with some sand paper.
Then I applied my vinyl lettering. If you have never applied vinyl lettering before you can check out this tutorial over on my blog. Just a warning~ it’s addictive! 😉 I’ll put vinyl on almost anything that’s not moving. ha! :)
Finally I tied a ribbon around the top! That’s it! I told you this was quick & easy! 😉
I think our neighbors are going to LOVE them. 😉
Enjoy some of my favorite Christmas posts. :)
I hope to see you over at GingerSnapCrafts.com soon!

Christmas Stovetop Potpourri Recipe & Free Printable Gift Tag::Bloggers Best 12 Days of Christmas

day10

Hey everyone! I’m Kristin from Yellow Bliss Road and I am so excited to be here! A huge thank you to the Crafting Chicks for having me over today! At Yellow Bliss Road, I love to share simple & delicious recipes and fun free printables, especially around the holidays.

For my gift idea, I decided to put together two of the things I love most about Christmas – 1) Gift giving, and 2) the delicious scents of cranberry, cinnamon and citrus. Want to make your home and your neighbor’s smell like CHRISTMAS? Read on and I’ll show you how!

Christmas Stovetop Potpourri and Free Printable Gift Tags

I love to fill my home with amazing scents during the holidays, and there’s no better combination than citrus and cranberry mixed with cinnamon and spices. This is a simple recipe that you can simmer on your stovetop or in a crockpot to help fill your home with these delicious scents.

Christmas Stovetop Potpourri - This stuff smells amazing!!

All of these ingredients are combined in a small pot on the stove. Since I thought this would be a great gift idea, I created a fun printable tag to go with it. Just right click on the image above to save it to your computer, then print as many as you need.

Christmas Potpourri Tag

Just place the ingredients in a jar or gift bag. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t easy getting that orange in there so I’d suggest choosing a small orange, or slicing it and placing it in a ziploc bag before adding it to your jar. You also want to place the spices in a small bag so they dont just fall to the bottom. I simply cut the corner of a ziploc bag, poured the spices in, then tied it with a small piece of twine.

For the top, I just cut a circle out of a brown paper lunch bag and placed it under the ring of the mason jar. I then added a “To” and “From” just in my own handwriting. I attached the tag with some twine.

I love how fresh and rustic this gift is, and I love that it’s not another food gift!

Thanks again for letting me visit!

Family Lacing Cards::Bloggers Best 12 Days of Christmas

day8

Hello, friends! I’m Kierste, the girl behind the blog Simply Kierste, and I’m delighted to be here! I adore the Crafting Chicks, and it’s so fun for me to be a part of the 12 Days of Christmas series, and share a really fun, easy, and inexpensive gift idea!

We live far away from all of our family–most of them live thousands of miles away, and my sister is the closest at twelve hours away. We don’t get to see them as often as we would like, but it’s important to me that we do things to keep connected, and to help my kids know their family. I thought it would be fun to make a set of family lacing cards for my kids for Christmas a couple of years ago, and they LOVE them. I made a card for each of our siblings, and their families, and it’s so fun to have their cute faces so often.

Family Lacing Cards | simplykierste.com

It’s a perfect gift for either your kids, or for other family members–with a card of your family, of course! I love to tuck them into our church bag, into my diaper bag for visits to the doctor and other times we have to wait, and into the car.

This is a very easy project, and can be put together in an afternoon! It’s also extremely budget-friendly–I made this whole set for less than $10, with the majority going to the lamination.

Family Lacing Cards | simplykierste.com

ITEMS YOU NEED:

-white cardstock

-coordinating cardstock

-paper trimmer & scissors

-hole punch

-printer

-pictures of choice

Family Lacing Cards | simplykierste.com

DIRECTIONS:

1. Develop 5×7 pictures of your family. On white cardstock, print the names or other text a little below the middle of the page, giving room for the picture to go above it. Once it’s printed, adhere the picture right above the text using double stick tape. (Font = century gothic)

2. Trim the white cardstock, leaving about a 3/4 inch border around the edges. Mat it onto a coordinating piece of cardstock–I decided on red. Trim all edges to be even.

3. You’re ready to laminate! I took mine to Office Max, and had them use a 7 mil laminate. I wanted it as thick as possible, and the 10 mil wouldn’t work with all of the cardstock. Trim the laminate, leaving a small border around the edges. ***Make sure you round the corners afterward–the edges are very sharp! If you have a laminator, you can do it yourself too! I also have a laminator, but I wanted it a little thicker than mine can do.

4. Using a ruler and a Sharpie, decide where you how far apart you want the holes, and make a small mark. Punch the holes over the mark you made with your hole punch.

That’s it, you’re done! You’ve got darling family lacing cards!

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this fun series! I’d love you to stop by Simply Kierste, and see a ton of other fun ideas and projects for Christmas…and more!

7 Swans a Swimming Mason Jar Gift:: Bloggers Best 12 Days of Christmas

day7 Celebrate one of the 12 days of Christmas with an easy whimsical 7 Swans a Swimming Mason Jar Gift!

Hi Crafting Chicks readers!  It’s Keri from Shaken Together and I am so glad to be participating in the Bloggers Best Christmas Series: 12 Days of Christmas!!  Gift giving is one of my favorite things! There is nothing better than having a little gift giving arsenal of quick gifts for friends, co-workers, neighbors and teachers!  My aunt is the queen of great little giftables stashed away in her closet … she picks up fun things all year long and always has something on hand if she needs a gift.  I am not quite that organized, but I do have a super cute {and quick!} mason jar gift idea to share with you!

7 Swans a Swimming Mason Jar Gift

Celebrate one of the 12 days of Christmas with an easy whimsical 7 Swans a Swimming Mason Jar Gift!

You will not believe how easy this is to make!  There are literally only a handful of basic craft supplies needed:

  • Mason Jar (or recycle a spaghetti jar)
  • White acrylic paint + foam brush
  • White feather trim
  • Hot Glue Gun + glue sticks

I used a foam brush to ‘pounce’ the white acrylic paint on the mason jar. (I found that when I tried to paint up and down, the paint was streaky and did not cover the jar well.)  To pounce, just add paint on your brush and sponge/dab it all over the jar.  I think it is better to add less paint to your brush and cover smaller parts of the jar then get your brush loaded with paint and have a thick heavy coat.  I was able to add two thinner coats quickly and it was dry is less than 20 minutes.  Once your jar is dry, plug in your glue gun and gather your feather trim.  I picked up the feather trim at Michael’s with a coupon for a few dollars.

Celebrate one of the 12 days of Christmas with an easy whimsical 7 Swans a Swimming Mason Jar Gift!

Work your way around the jar lid and hot glue the feather trim around the jar.  If you want to, stamp a kraft paper tag, thread it with sheer white ribbon and attach it to the top of your jar with gold washi tape.  I just can’t enough of that feather trim!!

Celebrate one of the 12 days of Christmas with an easy whimsical 7 Swans a Swimming Mason Jar Gift!

Fill your gift with homemade snack mix, hot cocoa mix or spiced cider mix, candy, cookies or even a few of your favorite bath and body products. Because I am obsessed with them, I filled my 7 Swans a Swimming Mason Jar Gift with shimmery white gum balls!

Here are a few more of my favorite mason jar gifts!

Thanks so much for letting me stop by ladies – happy, happy holidays!!

Birch Wood Glitter Ornaments::Bloggers Best 12 Days of Christmas

day5

Hi everyone! I’m Crystal from A Pumpkin & A Princess and I’m thrilled to be here to today! I loved the 12 days of Christmas event last year and am excited to share another project this year. For me the holidays and glitter go hand in hand. I’ve been glittering ornaments since I was 4 and I don’t think a year goes by that I don’t make some kind of glitter ornament or holiday decoration. This year I’m liking the plaid trend mixed in with a touch of gold. For the five golden rings I made these birch wood glitter ornaments.

Gold Glitter Ornament Supplies:

ribbon (from Michaels)
birchwood circle
glue (I’m using Mod Podge)
gold glitter (Martha Stewart -smokey quartz)
hot glue

ornament To make the ornament I applied glue around the center of the birch wood. I wanted to leave that dark ring and used that as my guide on where to apply the glue. I then added glitter and removed any excess.

After make a quick bow and securing it with hot glue I hung my rustic glam ornament.

Redbox Neighbor Gift::Bloggers Best 12 Days of Christmas

day5

Hey friends and readers of the adorable Crafting Chicks!  I am Pam from Over the Big Moon and I am excited to share with you this Redbox Neighbor Gift Idea!  This idea actually came to me in the early hours of the morning, after being up all night with my daughter.  My poor Dylan girl had been screaming her head off for the previous 5 hours (her ear drum ended up bursting) and I was beyond exhausted and as I laid down I glanced at the Redbox case that was laying on my dresser and *BING* the idea hit me!

Both my blog partner, Lisa, and I are busy wives, moms, bloggers, housekeepers, PTA helpers, involved in our churches, taxi drivers, etc and so we LOVE SIMPLE!  But, when the idea is simple, affordable and memorable then we have a win-win-win, which makes us beyond happy!  So, I was super excited a few weeks ago when this idea popped in my head!

What you need:

Printable Gift Tags (printable below)
Cardstock
Redbox Promo Codes (link to purchase below)
Microwave Popcorn Packages

Redbox-Neighbor-Gift-Printable

After you have the Gift Tags all printed and signed then you just need to write in your Promo Codes!  Here is how you go about obtaining them!

Redbox allows you to purchase them on their website in bundles of 5, 10, 20 or 50 under their Redbox Gifts section (link at the bottom of the page).  You order them online and they are emailed. So, you just enter your own email address in the recipient space and you’ll receive an email with all the codes listed!

Here is a sample of the email you will receive!

Redbox-Confirmation

In case you didn’t look closely, I’ve got 5 FREE promo codes in the above confirmation that are up for grabs to the first people that see them!  Don’t forget that you can always reserve a movie online!! 😉  Enjoy!

Now, back to the gift!  After you get all your gift tags completed, then just attach them to a package of microwave popcorn!  If you purchase the microwave popcorn in bulk, then you can get them for about $.50 each (or less).  So, the total cost for the gift, including the printing of the Gift Tag would still be under $2.00!!

If you have some people on your street that you don’t really know, but want to be a good neighbor, I think it would still be fun to just attach the Gift Tag to your families Christmas Card!

If you want to make the gift a little nicer, then you could also include a 2-Liter Soda, a bag of candy and even some popcorn containers!  The options are endless!

Now, get going, by downloading your Redbox Neighbor Gift Tags below!
