12 Days of Christmas Gift Ideas sm 12 days all 1

One of our favorite Christmas ideas is the 12 days of Christmas.   My family finds an older woman in our neighborhood, and we leave them little goodies 12 days in a row.  We love to find someone who could use a little extra love this Christmas season.

This year, when I saw Heidi Swapp’s Holiday line for Christmas treats, and treat packages, I knew we had to use them for our 12 Days.  I love how they all coordinate.  I’m excited to share the ideas we came up with for all 12 days.

This new line by Heidi is now available exclusively in Jo-Ann Fabric & Craft Stores.  These pretty products range from cookie baking tools to holiday card kits and packaging.  It’s all so dreamy and pretty!  But move fast because they have a limited amount of product…& you can get these items online or in the store.

Hello there! I’m Laura from Inspiration for Moms and I am thrilled to be hanging with the Crafting Chicks today! I’m sharing with you an easy gift printable for the theme of twelve drummers drumming. When I think of drummers, I am reminded of one of my favorite Christmas songs…The Little Drummer Boy. So I took that song and combined it with a classic drummer boy silhouette to make a darling Little Drummer Boy Gift Tag.

Little Drummer Boy Printable Gift Tag

These tags are a great way to add a little traditional Christmas to your special gifts. And they’re perfect if you’re up at 2 am wrapping those last minute gifts and need some very creative tags. 😉 See there, I gotcha covered!

To print your own gift tags, just click on the image below and save to your computer. (When you’re ready to print, select 8×10 and two tags should easily fit on one piece of card stock.)

Hello! I’m Ginger, & I blog over at GingerSnapCrafts.com. I am sooooo excited to be over here with the Crafting Chicks today. 🙂 Over on my blog I love sharing easy, simple & fun projects, recipes & ideas. I’m also a mom to 5 kiddos, & I have one amazing husband. I hope to see you around sometime over on my blog. 🙂 This DIY ‘Joy to The World’ Block is so, so easy to put together. Shhhh! These are actually our neighbor gifts this year. 😉 We can make a bunch at once, they are really inexpensive to make, & they turn out super cute. So keep reading to get the tutorial. 🙂
You’ll need a few supplies to get started:
  • 2×4 cut into a 7 inch block
  • this image from the Silhouette store
  • Joy to the World vinyl (cut with my Silhouette)
  • white acrylic paint or spray paint
  • sand paper
  • ribbon
First I painted my block white. It took two coats of paint, & then I let it dry really well. Then I distressed it slightly with some sand paper.
Then I applied my vinyl lettering. If you have never applied vinyl lettering before you can check out this tutorial over on my blog. Just a warning~ it’s addictive! 😉 I’ll put vinyl on almost anything that’s not moving. ha! 🙂
Finally I tied a ribbon around the top! That’s it! I told you this was quick & easy! 😉
I think our neighbors are going to LOVE them. 😉
Enjoy some of my favorite Christmas posts. 🙂
I hope to see you over at GingerSnapCrafts.com soon!
Thanks for having me over! 🙂

Hey everyone! I’m Kristin from Yellow Bliss Road and I am so excited to be here! A huge thank you to the Crafting Chicks for having me over today! At Yellow Bliss Road, I love to share simple & delicious recipes and fun free printables, especially around the holidays.

For my gift idea, I decided to put together two of the things I love most about Christmas – 1) Gift giving, and 2) the delicious scents of cranberry, cinnamon and citrus. Want to make your home and your neighbor’s smell like CHRISTMAS? Read on and I’ll show you how!

Christmas Stovetop Potpourri and Free Printable Gift Tags

I love to fill my home with amazing scents during the holidays, and there’s no better combination than citrus and cranberry mixed with cinnamon and spices. This is a simple recipe that you can simmer on your stovetop or in a crockpot to help fill your home with these delicious scents.

Christmas Stovetop Potpourri - This stuff smells amazing!!

All of these ingredients are combined in a small pot on the stove. Since I thought this would be a great gift idea, I created a fun printable tag to go with it. Just right click on the image above to save it to your computer, then print as many as you need.

Christmas Potpourri Tag

Just place the ingredients in a jar or gift bag. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t easy getting that orange in there so I’d suggest choosing a small orange, or slicing it and placing it in a ziploc bag before adding it to your jar. You also want to place the spices in a small bag so they dont just fall to the bottom. I simply cut the corner of a ziploc bag, poured the spices in, then tied it with a small piece of twine.

For the top, I just cut a circle out of a brown paper lunch bag and placed it under the ring of the mason jar. I then added a “To” and “From” just in my own handwriting. I attached the tag with some twine.

Christmas Potpourri with free printable tag

I love how fresh and rustic this gift is, and I love that it’s not another food gift!

Thanks again for letting me visit!

Hi everyone! It’s Leanne from Organize and Decorate Everything. I’m so happy to be here to share with you my gift idea for Eight Maids a Milking. I like to pamper myself when I can and I like to think of fun ways to pamper my friends. What better way than to give them something relaxing and soothing for the bath. Winter can be harsh on your skin and this Simple Homemade Milk Bath is the perfect solution.

Simple Scented Milk Bath 3.1

What You Need:
1 1/2 cup Whole Powdered Milk
1/2 cup Cornstarch
1/2 cup Baking Soda
Essential Oils (about 10 drops)

What could be easier than 4 ingredients? The milk moisturizes your skin, the cornstarch soothes irritation, and the baking soda softens. The essential oils add a wonderful scent.

Simple Scented Milk Bath 10.1

Mix the ingredients together in a large bowl. To fill 2 wide mouth Mason jars and have a little left over for myself I used 4 1/2 cups of milk, 1 1/2 cups of cornstarch, and 1 1/2 cups baking soda. If you are using smaller jars you won’t need to make as much. Just remember the ratio is: 1 1/2 milk to 1/2 cornstarch and baking soda.

Simple Scented Milk Bath 9

By using the wide mouth jars it makes it so much easier to get the mixture in the jars. I tried using a funnel but it didn’t work very well. This was a better option. I washed the mixture off my hands and they were softer already.

Simple Scented Milk Bath 8

Add about 10 drops of essential oils to a large jar or 5 drops to a smaller jar. Place the lid on the jar and shake until well mixed. If you add oils the Milk Bath will not be ready to use until after 24 hours.

Simple Scented Milk Bath 7

Now it’s time to embellish the jars to give as gifts. I used chalkboard labels, tulle, and added cute little scoops to the outside of the jars. I had the little scoops left over from a Sundae party we had a few years ago. Aren’t they so cute? You could also decorate the lids using fabric, scrapbook paper, or washi tape.

Simple Scented Milk Bath 6

I love the chalkboard labels on the jars. It’s easy to cut the vinyl using a cutting machine or even just cutting by hand. I used a Lavender essential oil because I think it’s so relaxing. I decided to add Peppermint oil to the other one because of Christmas gift giving. I would love to try Lemon or Orange essential oils in the future.

Simple Scented Milk Bath 5.1

To use simply pour 1/2 – 1 cup into the bath water and relax. I think I’ll go take a bath now with my left over Peppermint Milk Bath.

Hello, friends! I’m Kierste, the girl behind the blog Simply Kierste, and I’m delighted to be here! I adore the Crafting Chicks, and it’s so fun for me to be a part of the 12 Days of Christmas series, and share a really fun, easy, and inexpensive gift idea – Family Lacing Cards!

We live far away from all of our family–most of them live thousands of miles away, and my sister is the closest at twelve hours away. We don’t get to see them as often as we would like, but it’s important to me that we do things to keep connected, and to help my kids know their family. I thought it would be fun to make a set of family lacing cards for my kids for Christmas a couple of years ago, and they LOVE them. I made a card for each of our siblings, and their families, and it’s so fun to have their cute faces so often.

Family Lacing Cards | simplykierste.com

It’s a perfect gift for either your kids, or for other family members–with a card of your family, of course! I love to tuck them into our church bag, into my diaper bag for visits to the doctor and other times we have to wait, and into the car.

This is a very easy project, and can be put together in an afternoon! It’s also extremely budget-friendly–I made this whole set for less than $10, with the majority going to the lamination.

Family Lacing Cards | simplykierste.com

ITEMS YOU NEED:

-white cardstock

-coordinating cardstock

-paper trimmer & scissors

-hole punch

-printer

-pictures of choice

Family Lacing Cards | simplykierste.com

DIRECTIONS:

1. Develop 5×7 pictures of your family. On white cardstock, print the names or other text a little below the middle of the page, giving room for the picture to go above it. Once it’s printed, adhere the picture right above the text using double stick tape. (Font = century gothic)

2. Trim the white cardstock, leaving about a 3/4 inch border around the edges. Mat it onto a coordinating piece of cardstock–I decided on red. Trim all edges to be even.

3. You’re ready to laminate! I took mine to Office Max, and had them use a 7 mil laminate. I wanted it as thick as possible, and the 10 mil wouldn’t work with all of the cardstock. Trim the laminate, leaving a small border around the edges. ***Make sure you round the corners afterward–the edges are very sharp! If you have a laminator, you can do it yourself too! I also have a laminator, but I wanted it a little thicker than mine can do.

4. Using a ruler and a Sharpie, decide where you how far apart you want the holes, and make a small mark. Punch the holes over the mark you made with your hole punch.

That’s it, you’re done! You’ve got darling family lacing cards!

Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this fun series! I’d love you to stop by Simply Kierste, and see a ton of other fun ideas and projects for Christmas…and more!
