Quick & Easy Coffee Filter Party Favors

Quick and easy party favors - made from coffee filters!

Well, hey there!  It’s Keri from Shaken Together and I couldn’t be happier to be here with you today!  Now, despite all the exclamation points, I am still trying to come to grips that this time of year means that I now have boys in middle school and high school {say what?!}.  But, I have decided I have to shake off the back to school blues.  Want to know why?  We are heading into party season!  Back to school parties, class parties, birthday parties, football parties, holiday parties and just because parties!  And in my book, every great party needs a really great party favor.  So, I am sharing a super cute {but totally inexpensive} party idea that you can make for any holiday, season or theme … Quick & Easy Coffee Filter Party Favors!

Super cute party favors made from coffee filters - love the washi tape and bakers twine!

That’s right!  Can you believe that those super cute stamped pockets start from humble cone shaped coffee filters?  They are naturally the perfect shape to hold candy, confetti, snack mix, popcorn, beads, rice, birdseed, temporary tattoos or even small toys!  So, hit the grocery store and your craft stash for a few simple supplies and make coffee filter party favors!

How to make coffee filter party favors

  1. Gather your supplies:  cone shaped coffee filters, small alphabet stamps/ink pad, scissors, washi tape, a small hole punch and bakers twine.
  2. Using your stamps and ink pad, add a message for your party guests:  Happy Birthday, Oh Happy Day, Touch Down, etc.
  3. Trim off the small “tab” from the top edge of the coffee filters.
  4. Fill your pouches and close with a piece of washi tape.
  5. Punch a small hole and tie them closed with a bakers twine bow.

These coffee filter party favors look so cute piled in a basket or displayed on a tray.  Better yet, they are easy to make and perfect to hold a little something for your guests to enjoy on their way home!  You can easily change the message, washi tape and twine/ribbon for any holiday or party theme, too!

Coffee filter party favors are SO easy to stamp, stuff and share for any party!

I’m here for the party!  Here are more festive party ideas, so put on your party hat!

See you all again soon!!

Valentine’s HedBanz

valentine_hedbanz HedBanz* has quickly become a family favorite at our house, so I made a Valentine’s version to play for Family Night this week. If you aren’t familiar with the game here’s a quick break down. You wear awesome plastic headbands that have a slit to hold the card. Without looking at the card you insert it into the slit, and then by asking questions you try to figure out what you are. Kind of like 20 questions. Only instead of 20 questions, you are racing against a timer. If you get it before your time is up you pick another card and keep asking until your time expires. Then it’s the next person’s turn. When it comes around to you again, you pick up asking questions where you left off before.

Valentine Hedbanz Printables

This would be a fun game to play at a class party. If you don’t have the game, I bet you could make elastic headbands, like the elastic hair ties only larger, and they would work just as well. Place the card between your forehead and the elastic to hold it in place.

The download contains 2 pages of cards, and 1 page to be printed on the back of the cards. Cause we need all the help we can get to keep us from cheating around here!

Check out my post on printing printables for answers to common problems. And, as always, I recommend printing on matte photo paper* for best results.

I have a printable post all scheduled and ready for today, but our download manager is not working right. Maybe you’ve noticed? We’re working on it and hope all of our downloads will be working ASAP. But since that wasn’t going to work for this morning, and I realized we only have 5 days until class parties, I thought I’d share some ideas for class activities, just in case.
