This is the most simple project….and it’s actually an idea that Q my 5 year-old came up with. She is the best and so creative. She did this one day and I thought, “what a great idea that is!” She even staged a lot of this shoot which I think is so awesome. I love when she joins me in my shenanigans. This is a fun project you can use for any age of girl.
SUPPLIES: All you need is blank headbands. They have a great supply over at Hairbow Supplies Etc. The only other thing is washi tape. Easy enough.
HAVE I TOLD YOU I LOVE WASHI TAPE!!!! I do…that’s all. You can use any type of washi tape for this projects. I noticed that when Q and I were making these, that patterned tapes look different when they are on the headband. Ones I thought would be cute, didn’t necessarily look cute and visa versa. So try out a bunch of different ones.
Start at one end of the headband and wrap it tightly around the whole headband. Easy enough! Finish it up with washi tape on each end to make it finished.
There you have it. Done. These are fun because you can make any pattern, quickly and cheaply.
Wahoo, that’s what we like :).
What kind of girl doesn’t love playing dress ups? Admit it. You do too! Now what girl wouldn’t love designing and playing in her own dress-up creations?
The inspiration for Shailie came when a mom couldn’t find toys for her daughter that inspired the same creative energy for girls that her sons’ toys did for boys. From a young age her son had train sets, Tinker Toys, and Lego’s. She wanted a toy that would provide the same creative energy that her sons’ toys did for boys. “What if dresses could come in pieces?” “What if girls could mix and match dress pieces to create their own fashions?” And from that idea, Shailie was born.
Shailie is a revolutionary, new dress up kit for girls. Shailie dress kits come in ready-to-put-together parts that are a breeze to put together, take apart and put together again. All dress components are interchangeable using Velcro. Girls can mix and match to create endless dresses to wear and model with friends. The starter kit includes a life-sized, pink and white polka-dotted dress form, a darling accent to any girls’ room!
Shailie has won the most prestigious awards in the toy industry, including: Dr. Toy Best Pick, Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal, Disney iParenting, Creative Child Magazine Product of the Year, and TD Monthly Innovations award.
Shailie is an amazing toy for older girls, it is recommended for girls 6-12 years old. For more information about Shailie visit www.shailie.com
