Great Time - Watch Teacher Gift Idea

I’ve been eyeing these watches on every visit to Michael’s (which is a lot!) and the last time I was there they were on sale 2 for 1. So, obviously I stocked up. I thought they’d make great gifts, although I didn’t really have anyone in mind. I just knew for that price they were coming home with me. Let’s note that this is NOT a sponsored post by Michael’s, I just like to have a well stocked gift drawer in my arsenal. You can find a wide assortment of jelly watches here as well. Great Time - Watch Teacher Gift Idea

Last night was my daughter’s dance recital and as I was running through ideas of little gifts we could gift her teachers I remembered this stash of watches.

Last year I made a printable as an end of year teacher gift that went with a watch. The little saying on it has never been one of my favorites, so I decided to play with the word TIME this time around. Which I think leaves this printable open to be used for so much more than just school teacher.  Dance Teacher – Piano Teacher – Church Teacher – Swim Teacher. What other type of teacher would this work for?

Great Time - Watch Teacher Gift Idea

I used the template from last year to create this year. But these watches are way different from the ones I used last time. The holes at the bottom of the tag are intended for the watch to be done up in the back. These jelly watches lay flat really well. So I moved tome things around and came up with having the slits in the middle.

Great Time - Watch Teacher Gift Idea

With the watch laying flat, the card easily slips into a long envelope. If you don’t want to bother with an envelope you can use washi tape to secure the watch in the back.

Great Time - Watch Teacher Gift Idea

I left the background white so it can be printed on different colors of cardstock to go with difference colors of watches. We printed on teal cardstock to put the white watches with and they were super cute.

Both the bottom and middle opening versions are available on this download:

Pirate Party Table

I recently put together a quick and easy Nautical Party Tablescape using the Recollections™ Craft It™ party décor items from Michaels. All the decorations came together in less than a half an hour, thanks to the convenience of the line. Now that’s a really big deal, cause you know the “party moms” out there? The ones who start planning birthday parties 6 months in advance and spend hours and hours creating and decorating for that party? Whelp, I’m not that mom. So the fact that this went together so quickly with so little effort is a really big deal! I’m all about the shortcuts!

Nautical Party

The cake topper was made with 2 skewers, a piece of bakers twine with flags from the line attached with glue dots.

Pirate Party

The same flags were attached to skewers to create these donut kabobs. I think the crumb donut holes look like they’re covered in sand

Quick Ideas for Nautical Party

The blue banner was create from a pack of patterned triangles that I attached to baker’s twine with mini clothespins

It's No Puzzle Valentines Printables

I found these addable mini puzzles at Michaels. I thought they were so cute and my 4-year-old daughter fell in love with them. She loves puzzles and I just knew there was a fun Valentine’s pun I could use to make these her valentines to give her preschool friends. So I snagged them, made up this fun little printable and have them ready for you and your little ones.

its-no-puzzle-valentine

First off, find the small puzzles. They come in an 8 pack so it’s just perfect for a preschool class. I snagged 2 packages cause I knew my girls would want to play with them too.

Then print off the free printables below. I made one sheet with pink and one with the blue.

Remember all printables are property of The Crafting Chicks, LLP. For personal non-commercial use only.

After you have the printables printed and cut, you can start to have your child write their name on them. We were too excited to see how it all looked so you can add the puzzles later if you’d like. It didn’t seem like a problem for us.

puzzle-valentine

Attach the puzzle boxes by using tape or glue dots. You can choose which would work best. The tape seemed to hold just fine. But if you’re worried about them traveling you could certainly throw a glue dot on the back to keep them more secure.

And there you have it. A simple and fun Valentine for your child to give.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is a favorite in my home. My kids and hubby really get into the decor, costumes and of course YUMMY Halloween Goodies! My season favorite . . . Candy Apples! The tangy apples with a smother of sweet candy shell just seems to hit the spot for me! This year, I thought how much fun it would be to mix the Spooky Halloween season with one of my favorite treats. So I created this Spooky Halloween Candy Apple Treat!

I used a kit from Urban Accents, which made this SUPER easy and quick to make.  For more spooky fun, I added a glittery black stick and an eyeball that I found at Hobby Lobby.  For the little extra touch I HAD to add a tag “I’ve got my EYE on you” which I think really brings it all to life!!!

Here are the supplies you will need
PicMonkey Collage

To get the glitter effect, I used a little bit of spray paint, then applied the glitter to the wet paint. No need for glue.

The candy apple mix was super easy to use;  I found my kit from my local bakery. The mix and sticks are included in the package. A quick tip… a candy thermometer is a MUST for successful candy apples!

Now it’s your turn to add a bit of Spooky Apple fun to your holiday! You can’t go wrong with a Spooky Halloween Candy Apple! Here is the free printable for you to enjoy!
