This post is sponsored by 25 Days of Christ, but my opinions are my own.
Every year after Halloween I start thinking about Christmas and usually come up with a pretty grand plan of how we will celebrate as a family. The plan usually includes us reading Christmas stories together in the morning before everyone heads to school and work, singing carols and drinking cocoa around the tree every night before bed, decorating gingerbread houses, ice skating, and most of all teaching my kids about the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate the birth of our Savior.
But in reality our December days are spent hurrying here and there and my well intentioned plans fall by the wayside and we settle for reading the nativity story from Luke on Christmas Eve, as I vow to do better next year.
But not this year. This year I am ready. This year 25 Days of Christ has done all the work for me. 25 Days of Christ was created by a mom, who like me, wanted to teach her kids that Christmas is more than a list to Santa. So she put together an advent type countdown to Christmas that includes an ornament for each day as well as a booklet with corresponding short stories and scriptures that go along with each ornament to teach a story from the life of Jesus Christ every day. These 25 Days of Christ Ornaments are adorable!
If you’re looking for a craft night project or a meaningful gift idea, you’ll want to check out their kits. They sell both the finished and unfinished kits.
I love that the ornaments are tangible, so my children can hold and inspect them while we read and learn together. I’m so glad that they have taken the time to put together the booklet with stories, scriptures, videos, and pictures so in the middle of my crazy December I can spend my time teaching my children and not scrambling to come up with something last minute. Or not doing anything at all (which is usually the case).

We bought this last year and it was the best thing! We loved it and I am so looking forward to getting it out again this year. My husband wanted to have the kids help paint it. I really wanted it to look nice, so I was kind of against it, but I did it anyway because he had asked us to. It was the perfect way to use it. Each day when we pulled out an ornament my kids were more invested and excited. They wanted to see if it was one they had painted. (and the ornaments are so simple to paint even the ones the kids painted looked great!) I would recommend this kit to everyone!
