Back to School Teacher Treat & Tag

At the beginning of the school year I usually like to give my kids’ teachers a little treat. Hey, it doesn’t hurt to get on their good side from the get-go. 😉 Here’s an idea I made last year that is simple and inexpensive, yet thoughtful and something they can use throughout the year—give the teachers one of those cool plastic cups filled with goodies and top it off with a cute tag! I’ve seen this idea several places (here, here and here for example) and decided to put my own little spin on it.

I found a set of three “double-walled iced beverage cups” (to be exact!) at Home Goods for less than $10. These cups really can be found almost anywhere. This was perfect because I had three teachers to give treats to! 🙂

Then I filled the cup with some candies and some of those Crystal Light single serving drink mixes–they can just fill up their cups with water, add a packet of their favorite flavor and have a yummy drink on the go. My kids’ teachers LOVED it!

I made a cute tag in Photoshop that says “It’ll be a big TREAT having you as my teacher!”. I printed it on white cardstock and taped it to the straw. I used digital scrapbooking products from Crystal Wilkerson. I have them available as a FREE PRINTABLE if you’d like them! 🙂

Just click on the link below to download.

DOWNLOAD TEACHER TREAT TAG HERE. (It is a zipped file that you can save to your computer for you to print out on 8.5 x 11 inch paper or cardstock, cut out and attach to your gift. Make sure to unzip your folder once it’s downloaded to your computer, so you can have access to the file.)

Another fun way to personalize the cups is to decorate them or add your teacher’s name with liquid chalk markers! They come in lots of fun colors and the cool part is they don’t rub off like dry erase markers—but they are way easy to clean with water if you want to change the words or design. I love those things! I found mine at Hobby Lobby but I know they are available others places too.

Hope this helps give you another idea for getting ready for school and showing those great teachers some appreciation at the beginning of the school year! Good luck! 🙂

This is a super cute idea! However, as an elementary teacher, I cringe when I see that the first letter isn’t capitalized, since we spend all year helping students remember to do that!!
