For my husbands I used scrapbook paper and rubbed the edges with ink to give it the distressed look. Then I used Modge Podge to glue it to the can. Once the glue dried I put a coat over the paper. I also used the two sided paper and I didn’t have any problems with it bubbling. Make sure you don’t put the glue on the part of the can you are not covering with paper.
This one is for me. I used a combination of material and ribbon. I cut pieces of material and ribbon and tied them in knots along the handle. I squished my ribbon on there to give it a fuller look. Then just tied material on the can. (you can also hot glue it.) I tied it because I am going to use the pieces of material for head bands.
