We threw a Noon Year’s Eve Party for our kids this year so they wouldn’t have to stay up until midnight. It was genius. We invited friends over at 10:00 am and partied until Noon! These DIY Noise Makers were one of the activities that we added to our Countdown Bags.
Creating these paper plate shakers are such a fun activity for kids of all ages. Everyone will love these easy noise makers.

- Paper Plates
- Markers, stickers, or washi tape ribbons, glitter, or any other embellishments to decorate the plates with. I’ve even used left over sequins.
- Popcorn, beans, uncooked pasta, rice, or beads to place inside the plates for the noise.
- Craft sticks
- Glue dots
- Stapler
Step 1:
Decorate the bottom of 2 paper plates. Use your creativity to decorate because this becomes the outside of your noise maker. This is the fun part!
Step 2:
Place a glue dot on one of the inside edges of the paper plate. Place a craft stick on it and push down to secure.
Step 3:
Place some corn inside the plate. Put the other plate on top.
Step 4:
Secure plates to each other with glue dots or stapler.
And the kids are ready to make some noise come New Years!
