Broccoli Cheese Chowder

Ingredients
  • Broccoli Cheese Chowder
  • Ingredients:
  • 1 pound fresh broccoli
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 C. Chicken broth
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 2-3 C. grated cheddar Cheese
  • ½ C. Flour
  • 4 C. Cream or Milk
  • 1 C. Butter
Instructions
  1. Cook broccoli until tender. Cut into pieces and set aside.
  2. Saute onion in ¼ C. butter until tender.
  3. In a soup pot, melt ¾ C. butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour until well blended.
  4. Gradually stir in your milk or cream, chicken broth and salt.
  5. Stir while bringing to a boil. Cook 1 to 2 minutes until thick.
  6. Add broccoli and onion.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in cheese, either serve or keep at low heat.
  8. Served 6-8.
