- 1 Tbsp yeast
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1⅛ tsp salt
- 1½ cup warm water
- 3½ - 4 cups flour
- 2 cups warm water
- 2 Tbsp baking soda
- Mix yeast, brown sugar, salt, 1½ c warm water and the flour together. Add flour until the dough forms a ball and begins to pull away from the sides. Mix together and knead for 3 minutes. Cover and let raise for 1 hour.
- Divide dough into 12 pieces.
- Roll into 18" ropes.
- Twist into pretzels
- Mix 2 cups warm water with 2 Tbsp baking soda.
- Dip pretzels in baking soda mixture. Let raise 15-20 minutes.
- Bake at 450 for 8 minutes.
- Brush with 2 Tbsp melted butter and sprinkle with salt or cinnamon sugar
