The Home Depot Harvest Yard Sign DIH Workshop is this week.

Candy Corn Yard Signs

Last week I announced the The Home Depot Harvest Yard Sign Virtual party and today I get to share what I did with this week’s DIH Project.

At The Home Depot DIH (Do-It-Herself) Workshop this week, you can make your own sign with the help of a professional. These workshops are great for learning new skills and getting to learn how to use power tools. So if you’ve been wanting to try your hand at projects you see, but aren’t sure how to begin these workshops are a great place to go to get hands on experience with tools.

Sign up for this week’s DIH Workshop through this link.

You may remember this picture, which is the inspiration photo we were all working from for this week’s project.

THD Candy Corn Sign

I chose to make a candy corn shape, so the first step was to trace the outline of the shape onto the wood. I used painters tape to hold it in place while I traced.

THD Saws

Next, cut the shape out with a saw.

THD Sander

Then I used a sander to smooth the edges of the shape.

Then paint your shape with acrylic paint.

Painted Candy Corn with Vinyll

Lastly, I added vinyl that I cut on my Cricut over the top of the paint.
