Easter Egg Place Mats With Felt
Well Easter is just around the corner. I was needing something to bring a little fun and color to my Easter table. I decided I could make some Easter Egg Place mats out of felt. They were so easy and I actually had all the supplies on hand so it didn’t cost me anything, but I think the cost would be minimal if you had to buy the supplies.
Let’s get started.
You’ll need:
large felt squares (for a fun variety of colors go visit Wool Felt Central) glue gun or craft glue (the kids can make these if you use the craft glue) ribbonI started out by cutting my felt into an oval egg shape. You could leave the felt in a square if you wanted and make some cute place mats that way.
Then pull out your ribbon and run it across your felt. I liked to move it around and see how I liked it best. I also left a little excess on both sides to make sure I had enough.
I got this ribbon from SEI Chick-a-Dee collection. Love their stuff. It’s so cute and worked great with my Easter decor.
I then got my trusty glue gun out and began gluing the ribbon down. Be careful not to get your fingers too bad. It’s easy to do with ribbon.
Then I cut the ribbon so that it was nice and even with the place mat.
Then…Ta-Dah! A new placemat for your Easter/Spring feast.
You could use felt pieces to decorate and even let the kids give this a try while you are making dinner.
Send us pictures if you give this a try. I would love to see what you all come up with.
Nikkala and I shared these on Utah’s CBS affiliate, KUTV’s Fresh Living program on Monday, April 18. Click on the link if you want to see the project put together in real time.
These are darling! Thanks for sharing 🙂
So cute and simple! This would even be a great project to do with kids. Thanks for sharing!
This takes me back to my childhood crafting projects with felt. It’s such a versatile material, so easy to work with, and yields such pretty results!
Felt is so fun to work with! This is such a cute idea, Becky!
