On Sunday I taught the ladies in our Church (the class for women is called Relief Society). My lesson was based on a talk given by Elder M. Russell Ballard in October 2012 General Conference, and I created this chalkboard art quote as a handout for everyone to take home.
Elder Ballard spoke about how bees in a beehive work together to create honey, and how even though each bee only contributes about 1/12 teaspoon of honey to its hive during its short lifespan, each bee is essential to the life of the hive. They all work together as a whole, all of them contributing their small amount of honey which, added together, creates a life-sustaining food. “Work that would be overwhelming for a few bees to do becomes lighter because all of the bees faithfully do their part.” He likened it to US, how small and simple acts of kindness and service that we all can perform daily really do make a difference in the world. He invited us all to “help pollinate the world with the pure love of Christ!” I love it! What a great reminder in this crazy world we live in.
“These simple, daily acts of service may not seem like much in and of themselves, but when considered collectively they become just like the one-twelfth teaspoon of honey contributed by a single bee to the hive. There is power in our love for God and for His children, and when that love is tangibly manifest in millions of acts of Christian kindness, it will sweeten and nourish the world with the life-sustaining nectar of faith, hope, and charity.” Elder Ballard
I have this available as a FREE PRINTABLE for you all today! Yay! 🙂 This would be awesome to pass out to the ladies you visit teach, to hang in your home, or to keep in your scriptures.
The zipped file contains an 11×14 inch poster as well as a smaller 4×6 handout as JPEG files. These files are zipped, so once you download it, you will need to right click on the file and select “extract file” in order to print them. You can print them at home; I printed mine at Costco.
DOWNLOAD the poster here!

Thank you! We are starting the process of becoming bee keepers and will get our bees this Saturday. I wanted a FHE lesson that we could tie into this exciting event and remembered Pinning your wonderful printable. I’ve selected many of the words you shared about your lesson to teach from. Thank you so much!
Hello Ladies,
Brooke, I love this poster! It’s a great reminder that I need to be sharing the Gospel. It’s definitely going up in my house. I was wondering if you could create chalkboard posters for the YW values. The poster we have in our YW room are out dated and we don’t even have a virtue poster. Please let me know your feedback.
