School is Cool Kids Craft
Hey there friends!
Rachel from Fawn here with you today and I’ve got a fun school is cool kids craft project for you!
Going back to school after the long summer break can make some kids a little anxious. From worrying about if they’ll be able to do their school work to fretting if they’ll make friends. Here’s a fun way to help banish those back to school butterflies.
Here’s what you’ll need to make this fun school is cool countdown calendar:
Doodlebug Designs- Petite Prints
Cricut Machine
Adhesive
Ribbon
In Cricut Design Space, search for images that are school related. I found a cute bus, apple, books, glue, school house and art supplies to use in my calendar.
After you have decided on your images, follow the prompts on the machine. Cut and assemble all pieces together using adhesive. Punch two holes to the tops of each piece and thread ribbon through them.
Here comes the fun part for your child! Have them write on the back of each banner piece what makes them excited for school. Our 6 year old is thrilled to meet her new teacher, make new friends and attend art class. Find out what your child is eager about and have them write it down. Writing it out will help ease some of the fears and get them excited for school!
Each day during the week before school, go through and talk about what your child wrote down with them. Discuss what it will be like meeting that new teacher or what fun things they will be learning in class. Help ease their worrisome thoughts by talking through all the fun activites they have to look forward to.
This banner will also make an adorable keepsake for the years to come.
How fun to look back on what your child was looking forward to in school…and seeing their adorable handwriting!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic school year!
