THE ABC’s of ME {an “all about me” digital ABC book}

I made these ABC books for my 5 year olds last fall. I wrapped the books up for their birthday. I cannot tell you enough how much they love these books. It was a great way for them to feel special, and have a book written just about them!

I needed happy digital kits & papers for the pages of the book, so of course, I had to use the digital designs of CRYSTAL WILKERSON! Her designs, colors, & patterns are bright and fun…just perfect for these ABC books.

I used many of her kits, papers & elements:  Her polka-dot, quatrefoil paper designs are some of my favorites. I also loved here Sweet Summertime kits & elements and Oh Boy paper packs. I used some elements from her ABC Elements. (I used these for my ABC posters for my Preschool Classroom too…Love those!)

I loved her LABELS….I used these to write on…the labels gave the book a clean & simple look and made the words easy to see and read.

You can check out Crystal’s Paper Packs Here. Crystal is also hosting an amazing 30 day challenge to improve our lives…what a great idea! Can’t wait to begin the challenge!

To get started, I wrote down a list A-Z. When I would think of a good idea, something about each kiddos for each letter, I would jot it down. That was mainly what took the most time. I had a Blurb coupon that was about to expire, so I had just 2 days to get the book digitally designed and ready to go.

For each letter, I thought of a fun little rhyme to go with that letter. Everything sounds better when it rhymes! Especially for kids. Feel free to use some of my words, or rhymes from my examples below, just remember to give credit.

Below I will share a few pages from each book. Some of my favorites!

{ABBY’S Book}

The pages above are at the beginning of each book.

We read these books over and over! When the kids choose a book at night, these are often chosen. They can even read a lot of the pages on their own! This was one crafty project that was definitely worth all of the time and work-such a great keepsake for the future!

    My goodness, these are SO beautiful! All your pictures are perfect and the colors and graphics are so colorful and pretty. You are so talented, especially to pull something like that off so quickly. Did you make each page in Photoshop and then upload it to Blurb? I’d love to know more about that process. I’ve made a Shutterfly ABC book where the templates were already in place. But these are so much cuter – I’m sure you could sell these as templates if you teamed up with Crystal!

      Love the ABC’s books you’ve created. I’m looking to do this for my granddaughter but every site I check they want you to use their pages and it’s just not what I want. I’d like to be more than one picture per page for each letter. For example I want to use A for art and I’ve gathered 4 pictures I want to use for that page. I love the digital but wondering if I should just do a scrapbook type?

      Appreciate your comments and help. Thank you

    I love this idea, I am new to blogging and I have never made one of these books. I have three kids and would love to make my two youngest a book. I have no idea how to start, where to do the books and I am on a budget. Can you help me in any way?

    These are so cute- especially love the colors. I’ve done ABC books for my kids and love them! I used Heritage Makers (www.digitaldreambooks.com). Here’s one I made for my daughter: http://www.heritagemakers.com/projectBrowserStandAlone.cfm?projectId=1333510&productId=44&projectSponsor=315088. It turned out so cute. I need to do one for my son who is just turning 2. The kids just love them!

    I love this idea too. I have created a list for my kids and am working on putting it together. Thanks for sharing your cute rhymes…I love em.

    I had a hard time with a couple letters too but it’s come together. A few harder letter ideas:
    Y- Y is for Yummy foods and treats, listed are a few of my favorites to eat. (I listed their favorites on the page)
    Q- Q is for Quilt, my mom made it for me…it’s soft and cozy made special for me.
    H- H is for House or Home (don’t have a rhyme for it yet)
