Tutu Costume Ideas :: A Challenge from Little Cherry Blossoms
We were excited when Carey from Little Cherry Blossoms sent us a craft challenge. She sent us each some tulle and asked us to come up with fun ideas for tutu Halloween costumes. Here’s what we did:
Becky made a darling Candy Corn tutu out of orange and peach tulle, along with a spunky tulle and ribbon headband.
Nikkala made this amazing Owl tutu out of peach and brown–check out her fun fabric “feathers” and her owl hood!
Instead of a tutu skirt, Kirsten made a pretty mermaid dress out of blue and green (and some extra sparkly fabric she had on hand).
Brooke created a pirate girl’s tutu with black and a melony pink tulle, complete with a black satin rosette eyepatch! ARRRRRRRRRRR, matey!
Jamie used the black tulle to create a little black tutu for a cat costume. She used black “boa” material from the craft store to attach a tail to the back and little cuffs on the sleeves. Isn’t this the cutest little pussycat! MEOW!
So there you have it. Thanks to Carey we were able to create some fun new costumes! There are so many fun costumes you can make with tulle. We had such a blast with this challenge. What would you have made?

I LOVE ALL OF THESE! Great job!! I have three girls and I want to make them all 🙂
I love how they all turned out!! This was a fun challenge! 🙂
I’m a little jealous that I don’t have a little girl right now. How cute are all of these 🙂
ADORABLE! I need to bust a move on a purple tulle skirt for my little “Purple Fairy”. 🙂
The tutu’s are cute and all but that baby at the top of the post has got to be one of the cutest babies I have ever seen! And that is saying a lot! I have 6 myself and tend to be pretty biased, but she is so stinkin’ cute–I love her cubby cheeks:)
Oh Jamie you are too sweet. I sure love her and think she is super cute. She makes the outfit for me.

All are so darling! Makes me wish I had a little, little girl again! Mine is 10 & wants to wear her oldest brother’s football jersey & pads with eye black……and a tutu in the school colors. Excited to have at least a little bit of girl showing through!
These are gorgeous girlie outfits, can they only be worn on halloween!
Well done!
So cute! Do You have a tutorial on the Mermaid dress?
