Yes, another cupcake post! Who doesn’t LOVE cupcakes right?! And who wouldn’t LOVE to get this treat on your birthday?! Brooke and I LOVED the craft class at the EVO Conference, where Provo Craft taught us how to assemble these darling “You Take the Cake” Birthday Supplies.
I used the same instructions that Brooke used for her 4th of July Cupcake Gifts. (thanks Brooke)
Supplies to make Birthday Cupcake Gift Bags:
- Small clear plastic cups (the ones I used were 9 oz)
- Clear cellophane bags (mine are 4 x 9.75 inches)
- Wooden skewers (such as for grilling or making kabobs, approx. 12 inches long)
- ribbon
- gift tags
- And of course a cute cupcake!
Simply place the cupcake into the clear plastic cup. It fits perfectly!
Then place the cup + cupcake into the clear cello bag.
Stick the wooden skewer into the center of the cupcake and push all the way down.
Tie a coordinating ribbon around the cello bag, then add your gift tag with tape or tie it to the wooden skewer. That’s it!
And last…give it to a friend on their birthday and make their day!
I couldn’t stop there with these cute tags and had to make some birthday cards as well. I can always use extra birthday cards and these were very easy to make.
I printed out the same tags on photo paper approximately 4 inches and cut them out. To make the cards, cut 8 1/2 x 11 in cardstock in half and then fold in half. I used sticky foam circles to make the tags stick out (a little 3d effect) and then used some staples, ribbon and brads to spice them up! You can make these in so many different ways.
And there you have it adorable homemade cards!
I would love to share these birthday tags with you. Now go spread some birthday cheer!

Love these Jamie. Just so happens I have a friend who has a b-day today. You are a lifesaver!
Ummmmm…..HELLLLOOO?? That polka dot tag just made me pee a little!! So freakin’ cute! The cardboard….the DYMO “birthday” font…..it’s all just a little too much perfection! LOVE IT. (Are there any more ways to express how much I love that than just writing in all CAPS? Just take my word for it!)
Very cute! Thank you so much for the download!
Super cute! Thank you! I shared with our readers at http://www.facebook.com/polkadotmarket…they will go nuts for these! 🙂
I am having a birthday party for my son this weekend and these are perfect. So glad I found them just in time!!
this is a great idea!!! i think i may just use this idea for favors for my son’s birthday 🙂
on an aside… for tags such as the one you made, is photoshop the best program to use? if so, are there any tutorials out there that you know of that would help in creating them?
Kind of a dumb question.. How do you get the cupcakes out without making a mess? Is that what the skewers are for? Making cupcakes for a bunch of band kids for their competition.. don’t want to get in trouble for getting their uniforms messy! 🙂
When I click on the link to download the file it says it is an invalid link. Can you help me with this?
