Today’s guest are super! Not just because they are Aimée and Bettijo from Paging Supermom, but mostly because they are amazingly fun, clever and can rock Illustrator like its no ones business. We got to meet this dynamic duo a couple years ago at SNAP, and I am in awe of all they do. They really can make you feel like a Supermom!

Christmas-Poppers-OverviewHi there! It’s Aimée and Bettijo from Paging Supermom, and today we’re here to share with you a favorite Christmas tradition from Aimee’s family (with a FREE PRINTABLE). Whether your family has a fancy or casual Christmas Eve or Christmas Day dinner, this tradition is sure to bring smiles and memories to the dinner table.

Every year Aimée’s family has a traditional English Christmas Eve dinner complete with prime rib, yorkshire pudding and English Christmas Crackers — also known as Holiday Poppers. The kids love the Christmas Crackers tradition, both the excitement of popping them open and the fun of finding a surprise inside.

What-is-a-Christmas-Popper

Christmas Crackers are tissue-wrapped tubes containing small gifts. When you pull the ends of the package, you’ll hear a *snap* as the package splits and the fun prizes fall. Traditionally poppers include a joke, trivia, small toy and a tissue paper crown, which, at our home, wearing the crowns during dinner is required for proper merriment.

We set a personalized popper at each place setting of our Christmas Eve dinner table where they double as placecards. Between wearing the colorful tissue paper crowns and taking turns sharing the included joke, we have fond Christmas Eve memories stemming from these tiny packages.
