TWO BANNERS…ONE MESSAGE!

Hey friends! First off….I’ve wanted to say this for A LONG TIME on behalf of all the gals here at The Crafting Chicks…WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR YOU, OUR FAITHFUL READERS! We have had such an amazing year because of YOUR SUPPORT! There’s nothing more fun for us than to know that the time we spend here INSPIRES you & makes you have that urge to CREATE! So this post is dedicated to YOU, our WONDERFUL READERS, we are “THANKFUL” for YOU!

The thing I love about these banners is that you could really have them up in your house all year. I think I will move mine to one of the bedrooms or a hallway when Thanksgiving is over. There’s nothing wrong with a little “BE THANKFUL” reminder right!

SUPPLIES INCLUDE:  lighter and darker shade of burlap, lace, stretchy ruffle fabric, glittery letters & sparkly gold tulle.

With a couple rosettes here and there, some burlap triangles, some glitter-sprayed letters, some lace & glue you’ll be in business quickly. Thanks to my good friend Dana who came over late one night while I was whippin’ this thing up….yes there was dancing around the kitchen like giant nerds, a bunch of “that’s what she said” comments, some random treats, and a GIANT MESS. Burlap is messy.

TIPS:  NO SEWING, hot glue gun & STAPLER used to attach all fabric, die-cut letters glittered by using spray glitter & sprinkling Martha Stewart glitter over the top of it. Did you read the part that said, DIE-CUT….it’s true, I think I’m the only serious crafter on the WHOLE PLANET that doesn’t have a SILHOUETTE! I was at the local craft store using their die-cut machine, there’s no school like the old school ;)!
GRATEFUL BANNER:  I made this one with a lace background (from a $2 DI curtain panel=awesome), attached by twine, with brown letters cut from brown glittery paper. OK, isn’t this barn cute! The cars going past while I hung this on a random barn near my house probably thought I was CRAZY….well they were right….anything for a great picture.

I love the delicate look of this banner, and the best part, it was SO QUICK TO MAKE.

So in closing….SO “THANKFUL” for so many things…YOU our readers, my awesome family, amazing friends, a healthy body, that my brother survived his 4-wheeler accident even though he still got injured pretty badly, a love of DIY…(curse or blessing? ;), a loving Savior that is always sending tender mercies when I don’t deserve them, and the list could really go on for days….Thanks for an amazing year thus far ;)!!!
xoxo,
KIRSTEN

Cute. And wondering where you bought or how you made your temple picture on the mantle? Love that.

Adorable! Two dumb questions, how big are your triangles and how much burlap did this take? I think this would be a great Christmas gift.

I thought I was the only one without a silhouette! : ) What store has a die cut machine that you can use? I wonder if there is one here where I live? Thanks!
