{Come On Get Happy!: Happiness Board}

With life being so stressful and busy, sometimes we all need a little reminder of what truly makes us happy.  After reading  this article in Real Simple Magazine , I was inspired to think about the things that make me happy.  I decided to make myself a Board of Happiness.

I bought some corkboard and cute fabric  at  Hobby Lobby.  The corkboard was pretty cheap, I got it unframed.  The fabric  I chose is pink because it is my favorite color and makes me happy!   :)   I used my hot glue gun to stick the fabric onto my board. Once I had my board covered with my fun pink  fabric, I needed some cute pins to hold on my happy  things.  I bought some plain thumb tacks and had to make them cute.  I made some little felt flowers to glue on the tacks.  I also found some really fun little glittery balls to put on them, and they were already sticky!  Yippy! :)

Once I got my fabulous pins made, I started to add some of the things that bring me happiness.      Some of the things I added, were photos of my family, my Sweet Lu & Durban, and some things that represent the activities in my life that I enjoy.  I also added a few of my favorite happiness quotes.  I put on a photo of me and my sister & best friend Jamie  and our sweet Possum dog, who has passed on.  I had so much fun making this!!! I realized how many wonderful things in my life make me truly happy!  What brings you happiness?    Happy Crafting Everyone!!!

I have to make my daily stop at The Crafting Chicks! And look what I found! Oh my goodness….I could ramble on in a completely embarrassing way….the fabric alone makes me wanna stand up and sing a song. (which would completely make me happy, by the way) And then there’s the pins….oh the pins…cute, Cute, CUTE!

And that’s all before I even mention the things on the board. I adore this project, I adore this post, and I REALLY need to make one. I needed this idea today. Thank you!

When I saw this I immediately thought that this is something I need to make for when I go back to work after being home with my baby girl for 3 months…depressing right?? How great would a happiness board be for my office and then when I am sad about not being with her I can just take a few minutes to look at everything that makes me happy! Thanks for the great idea!

Jen, I absolutely love this idea! It’s always good to have tangible reminders of all the “good stuff” in our lives. Plus that cute fabric is enough to make anyone happy. :)

I ended up making one for my craft room using a cork tile and some fat quarters I already had on hand. Thanks so much for the inspiration… it makes me smile everytime I look at it! You can see it at sunflowerzcrochet.blogspot.com.
