Kiss 2014 Goodbye Printable

So I think the fun gift idea for this past Christmas was these EOS Lip Balms. They are awesome and I can see why so many fun gift ideas using them popped up.

I happen to buy a few and wanted to use them for New Year’s.  I also made up this cute printable that you can attach and hand out to friends, or as a party favor at your New Year’s Eve party.

I just throw one in a zip top baggie, cut the top off, and tied the bag closed and tag on with some baker’s twine. Kiss-it-goodbye-gift-idea

Hope you love this as much as I do!

Ice Cream Snowman

Ice Cream Snowman 16

Hi my Crafting Chicks friends! It’s Leanne from Organize and Decorate Everything and I am so excited to be here with you again this month. Even if you live in a warm weather climate you can still enjoy creating a little snowman this Winter. An Ice Cream Snowman is fun for the whole family to make and the best part is eating it. Here’s what you need: Ice Cream Rolos Candy corn Rope red licorice Nerds Oreos Mini chocolate chips Coconut Since I knew it would take the kids a while to put their snowman together I pre-made scoops of ice cream, placed the individual scoops in muffin tins, and placed them back in the freezer for about an hour. I’ve also done this for birthday parties. It beats trying to scoop ice cream during the party. Place a little coconut, chocolate shavings, nuts, or candy sprinkles on the bottom of a shallow bowl or plate to keep the ice [Read More…]

Fruit Pizzas with Toca Kitchen 2

This post is sponsored by Toca Boca. All ideas, opinions, and messes are 100% mine. We are part of the Mom It Forward Blogger Network. Last week, I downloaded the new Kitchen 2 app from Toca Boca and my kids can’t get enough! They love being in control of the kitchen, and the hilarious characters’ reactions to what they feed them just encourages them more! The game is designed for ages 4 and up, but my 2 year old loves it too! After hours of playing together, we set the phone down and took to the kitchen to create real life food together! First, we went to the grocery store and I gave the kids complete control. I even let them use these little carts that I despise! (Seriously, have you ever had your ankles ran into by one of these?) Aside from the bulk candy section, I gave them permission to fill their carts with whatever they wanted. [Read More…]

Letter to Santa: 4 Simple Gifts

We are trying to simplify Christmas gifts over at my house.  I have loved the idea of just 4 gifts and having them be simple gifts.  I decided to design a Letter to Santa that showed my girls exactly what they were asking for and so they really get the idea of what they will find on Christmas morning. These are easy enough for little ones, but still fun for big kids too. Of course I wanted to share so you can download both below! The file is zipped so make sure you right click to unzip once you download.  Please remember all files are property of The Crafting Chicks, LLP.  All Crafting Chicks products are copyrighted. Crocheted Winter Blanket Tutorial

featured image

Hi there readers! It’s Ali, back from Dream Crafter. I am so excited to share this craft with you today because its something that has taken me a long time to complete. I love a good project that I can just sit down and do at night. Doing crafts like crocheting or sewing or cross stitch are some of faves because they help me unwind from my day. I started this blanket about 4 months ago (although it didn’t really take me that long to finish. I’m just a procrastinator,) and I love how it turned out. I am a huge fan of grey. You can never go wrong with a good neutral. Especially on something that is so big. Here is what you will need to make it: 1. A million skeins of Lion Brand “Dallas Grey” yarn. Seriously…I think this took me like 15-17 skeins. Of course this depends on the size of blanket you want. I made [Read More…]
