7 Swans a Swimming Mason Jar Gift:: Bloggers Best 12 Days of Christmas
Hi Crafting Chicks readers! It’s Keri from Shaken Together and I am so glad to be participating in the Bloggers Best Christmas Series: 12 Days of Christmas!! Gift giving is one of my favorite things! There is nothing better than having a little gift giving arsenal of quick gifts for friends, co-workers, neighbors and teachers! My aunt is the queen of great little giftables stashed away in her closet … she picks up fun things all year long and always has something on hand if she needs a gift. I am not quite that organized, but I do have a super cute {and quick!}, 7 Swans a Swimming Mason Jar Gift idea to share with you!
7 Swans a Swimming Mason Jar Gift
You will not believe how easy this is to make! There are literally only a handful of basic craft supplies needed:
- Mason Jar (or recycle a spaghetti jar)
- White acrylic paint + foam brush
- White feather trim
- Hot Glue Gun + glue sticks
I used a foam brush to ‘pounce’ the white acrylic paint on the mason jar. (I found that when I tried to paint up and down, the paint was streaky and did not cover the jar well.) To pounce, just add paint on your brush and sponge/dab it all over the jar. I think it is better to add less paint to your brush and cover smaller parts of the jar then get your brush loaded with paint and have a thick heavy coat. I was able to add two thinner coats quickly and it was dry is less than 20 minutes. Once your jar is dry, plug in your glue gun and gather your feather trim. I picked up the feather trim at Michael’s with a coupon for a few dollars.
Work your way around the jar lid and hot glue the feather trim around the jar. If you want to, stamp a kraft paper tag, thread it with sheer white ribbon and attach it to the top of your jar with gold washi tape. I just can’t enough of that feather trim!!
Fill your gift with homemade snack mix, hot cocoa mix or spiced cider mix, candy, cookies or even a few of your favorite bath and body products. Because I am obsessed with them, I filled my 7 Swans a Swimming Mason Jar Gift with shimmery white gum balls!
Here are a few more of my favorite mason jar gifts!
Thanks so much for letting me stop by ladies – happy, happy holidays!!
