Colorful Frame Gallery
I cannot tell you how excited I am about this post today! This project has been one that took me a little longer to work on, but it has paid off. I am in LOVE I tell you, L-O-V-E!
I knew when I started my girl’s new room that I would want to add pops of color where I could. The chevron wall was fun but I still wanted a little more. I also loved the idea of having great uplifting sayings as well as family pictures surrounding them. So I ran into Poppy Seed Projects and started pulling frames off the shelves and placing them on the floor. Holly, from Poppy Seed, was so good to help me mix and match so that I could get the look I wanted. We got everything laid out on the floor and then started deciding what colors to paint everything.
Ready for some hints on colors?
You’ll want to choose 4-5 colors. Having more will over power the wall. You also want to make sure you have at least one anchor color. An anchor color would be black, brown, or white. A color that would mellow things out but still add.
We also decided which frames to give that fun antique look too, which ones to layer, and which ones to add a fun pattern to. This will just add variety and interest to your gallery wall.
So once I got the frames, I checked out the Americana paints to pick out my perfect colors. I went with Golden Straw for the yellow, Peony Pink, white, and Russet for the brown. I had the Aqua spray paint because I knew I wanted that color in as well.
I got my frames all ready and painted and once they were done it was time to find the perfect things to go inside!
I made the “I Am A Child of God” printable and you can find that on our site.
Most of the other prints came from the talented Crystal Wilkerson and her Color Combo No. 4 Printables. I LOVE these!!
I’ve always loved this quote so I decided to make a printable of it. I again used one of Crystal’s papers for the background. I made up three different ones actually. I’m thinking I’ll offer them as a download soon.
Ah, I could just sit in the girls new room and stare at this wall. It makes me so happy. Here are a few more pictures for you…or maybe for me. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. 🙂
Where do you want to add a fun pop of color?
super cute, becky. love all the colors..and i love all the prints too…too cute (and thoughtful!):)
It turned out amazing Becky! Great job! I laughed at the comment that you could sit and look at it all day. Obviously your girls rooms do NOT look like mine. 🙂 Awesome!!
I love how sweet and sassy and bright this is! You did a wonderful job! Way to go Becky!!
Turned out amazingly, Beck! Love it! 🙂
Wow, I love this! The colors work together beautifully. I have a hallway wall screaming for this kind of decor. Thanks for the fabulous tips!!
I am a frame fanatic! I also love bold colors. I think all rooms should have pops of color to add drama and excitement. These frames certainly do that! The variety and shapes are really unique. I love the post, it is so inspiring.
I have loved watching this come to life on Instagram! It turned out so cute!

soooooo beautiful!!! i’m working on the same concept!!!
What a fun, colorful gallery! Most of our house is pretty subdued, but I just put up a gallery in my son’s room that’s pretty bright: http://www.dejongdreamhouse.com/2013/02/printable-gallery-wall.html
I love using printables, too, because they are so easy to switch up. Gotta love all those creative folks pinned on Pinteres!
