How to Make This Easy Solar System Craft

Start by preparing your paint. Add white, blue, and yellow paint to a paper plate.

This becomes your paint palette. Kids love choosing colors.

Next, protect your work surface. This part gets messy in a fun way.

Have kids dip the tip of their paintbrush into paint. Hold the brush about one foot above the paper.

Gently flick the brush with a fingertip. Paint specks will splatter onto the paper.

This creates a stunning galaxy effect. It looks like stars glowing in space.

Repeat with different colors. Layering adds depth and texture.

Soon the black cardstock looks like outer space. Kids will be amazed.

Adding the Sun and Planets

Once the splatter paint dries, continue the craft. Now it’s time for the sun.

Using yellow paint, create a large sun on one side. Talk about why the sun is important.

After everything dries, add planet stickers. This is where learning really happens.

Start closest to the sun with Mercury. Then add Venus, Earth, and Mars.

Continue with Jupiter and Saturn. Finish with Uranus and Neptune.

This helps kids learn planet order visually. It also reinforces memory through repetition.
