It feels like I’m always searching Pinterest for a fun game to play during class parties. A couple years ago I stumbled on an idea similar to this when I was in charge of the game for my daughter’s preschool class party. It was a blast! The kids had, fun, and I got a workout trying to stack the cups quickly for the kids to knock down again.

Here’s the supplies you’ll need to play this game:

  • Green plastic cups
  • Large white pom poms (I lucked out and found this one that had glitter on it too)

To play the Stacking Cups Christmas Tree Game

Begin by building a tree shape out of the green plastic cups.

You can make it whatever size you want. If you have a lot of kids playing you may want to do a smaller tree. I’d start with 4 cups on the bottom, 3 on the next level, 2 on the next, and then 1 for the top. Hand the kids the large white pom poms and let them throw. You could let them have 3 pom poms and if they don’t knock it down with those 3 they get back in line. The preschoolers did pretty good. We had them stand pretty close, but they got the rhythm down and were really excited that they got to knock something over.

Once the cups are knocked down, the person goes to the back of the line and someone else gets a turn. While that is happening you quickly stack the cups back up into tree shape.

It really is a fast pace fun game. Kids of all ages love playing it.
