Teacher Clipboard
Hello Crafting Chick friends! Did you know that I was a teacher before staying home with my boys? It’s true! I taught kindergarten for 10 years and LOVED it! Needless to say, I have a soft spot for teachers and Teacher Appreciation Week is going to be here soon! Our school organizes Teacher Appreciation Week by day for example Monday everyone brings a flower to make a huge bouquet, Tuesday bring a note, Wednesday wear their favorite color, Thursday bring a gift, and Friday bring a sweet treat. For gift day I thought it would be fun to make a Teacher Clipboard that she could hang by her desk or outside of her classroom door.
This is the kind of craft that is perfect for using up things in your craft stash! Most of this stuff came from discount and dollar bins at craft stores and Target.
Start by painting the whole clipboard {I used Martha’s aqua chalkboard paint.}
After the paint dries, glue a piece of patterned cardstock onto the clipboard with Mod Podge.
Next, trim the excess and use a nail file to distress the edges of the paper.
Cover the top paper edge with a piece of patterned washi tape. {I just love polka dots with floral, don’t you!?!}
The teacher clipboard is ready for some fun educational inspired embellishments!
A library card and some black lowercase stickers make a fun name tag. {I used a left over library card from my Perpetual Daily Calendar.}
Pair the library card with a different patterned but complementary colored library card pocket.
Remove jute twine from hanging chalkboard labels and replace with baker’s twine.
Adhere the library card pocket and the chalkboard labels to the clipboard using foam adhesive dots.
Add a touch more of scholarly flair with a globe embellishment.
For fun write the number of days left of school and add a label with your child’s name and the year! Thanks SO much for letting me share my Teacher Clipboard with you! Pop on by Dolen Diaries to check out my latest projects!
As a teacher, I would love this gift! The only thing better would be a dark chocolate bar (a really big one) clipped to it.
This is adorable! I really need to haul out my paper crafting stash and make a pretty little clipboard!
