With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I wanted to share some DIY Valentine Crafts.

{Valentine Banner}
Made this banner the same way I made my HAPPY BIRTHDAY banner. Just with the words “BE MINE” and a few hearts.DIY Valentine Crafts | Valentine Banner

I saw these hearts on Family Fun and thought it would be cute to make them for A & B. I made it different, but both are cute.
Here are the steps for the one I made:
-double up the felt to make it thicker and cut out hearts about 10 in. wide and 8 inches high.
-cut out a strip 1 1/2 in by 22 in and fold over, blanket stitch or sew up the side
-iron on pellon to your polka dot/striped fabric and then cut out little hearts
-peel off back of pellon and iron onto your felt hearts
-blanket stitch or sew around the fabric hearts and top of felt hearts
-pin heart sides together with strap inside and sew or blanket stitch around edges
-put a fun surprise in it and hang it on the door!
-the tricky part is the blanket stitch, but once you learn it, it is easy and makes it very cute!

Fill a little sack with gummy bears and teddy grahams, tie with a bow, add a little tag that says,
You are “beary” special, or Wishing you a “beary” special Valentine’s Day.

    Hi!
First off, this is just the greatest site. I love how many creative things you make and everything you make is just to stinkin’ cute!
I have a blog called The Dress-up Drawer and we are doing a giveaway in August promoting stay at home creative women and everything in the giveaway will be handmade! I thought this might be right up your alley! I was just wondering if you would like to be a part of our giveaway. My sister is Julie, from Leelou blogs, and through her blog I get TONZ of traffic.
Let me know, thanks so much!
    Jaime

LOVE LOVE LOVE the banner. I see those all over but have no idea how to do it. I read your post on the happy b-day one but I still don’t know how. Maybe because I don’t know how to use photoshop too well. Do you print it on scrapbook paper? If you are willing, maybe you could email me the file with the letters that you made and I could just print it? that would be awesome! I teach young girls homemaking and other skills every week and I know they would love to do something like that! [email protected]

    thanks for the cute ideas!

Thank you soooo much for all of your wonderful ideas. I have found a new addiction! I have already made a Valentine Banner…I used scrapbook paper, monograms from Martha Stewart website and my handy-dandy circle cutter and VOILA! So pretty!
    Thank you 🙂
