Amana Washer & Dryer Review and GIVEAWAY!

Happy New Year 2013!! We hope you had a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season with your loved ones! Us Crafting Chicks decided to take a few weeks off for Christmas break and will resume normal posting next week, but I am popping on here today to share an incredible giveaway!! A great way to start the new year off, right?? :) amana-   amana--2 Last month I was thrilled to be sent a new high-efficiency washer and dryer pair from Amana to review as part of a campaign with–this was super exciting for me especially because we’d had our washer and dryer set since we first got married and they were tired. 😉 I was eager to see the difference in how much more energy efficient they’ve become over the past 12+ years and and what options were available nowadays. Plus I was hoping they would magically make me fall in love with doing laundry. Uh, maybe  definitely, that last part was wishful thinking, ha! But truth is, I have been very happy with my Amana set for the past several weeks and I wanted to share some info and what I love about my new washing machine and dryer! And then we’ll chat about a giveaway. 😉 amana--4 The Amana® 3.6 cu. ft. High-Efficiency Washer with Stainless Steel Wash Basket is a high-efficiency top load washer.

  • I’m still a fan of the top loaders because I like being able to add extra clothes in while I’m soaking my laundry.
  • I’m happy that it’s ENERGY STAR® qualified–helps conserve natural resources and save money on our utility bills.
  • A selling feature for me on this model is that it uses a low-water wash system—optimal cleaning with as little as 13 gallons of water. What is so cool about this machine is that you put the detergent in first, then your clothes, and then when you press START it senses how large (or small) the load is, and adds water accordingly! So smart. I’ll admit, we had to get used to the new sounds and clicks this washer makes, it’s pretty different from our old set. But we really like it!
  • It has a stainless steel wash basket which resists scratches and rust to help prevent snags and stains on fabrics.

  • I love how large the basket is. It doesn’t have a middle part sticking up which lets me get more laundry in at once.
  • I also appreciate all of the options. Like the “bulky items” option is great for washing sheets and comforters, or loads of jeans. I like the “cool darks” and “cool lights” options too along with the “extra rinse”.
  • The cycle status makes it easy to see where it is in the cycle. I can pause the cycle or start over whenever I want.

amana-5231 amana-5229 The dryer is an Amana® 7.0 cu. ft. Traditional Dryer with Interior Drum Light, available in electric or gas models.

  • This dryer definitely can handle large loads–this is something I noticed from the get-go and I love it.
  • A favorite feature is the interior light! Makes such a difference when unloading the laundry and I never realized how much I missed it before! No kidding!
  • It has automatic dryness control sensors that monitor the temperature—automatically stops when fabrics are dry to help reduce shrinking.
  • This dryer dries our laundry much faster than our old model.
  • There are many different drying options–automatic dry, timed dry, air dry. You can choose low, medium or high heat as well.

amana-5232 Bottom line: I LOVE this washer and dryer set from Amana. While I still don’t particularly enjoy doing laundry, I have definitely noticed an improvement in efficiency and the cleanliness of our laundry. Perhaps at least that’ll help me in my resolution to not leave clean laundry in the laundry baskets for weeks on end. 😉 Thanks, Amana! Now, for the exciting giveaway!! Maybe you were hoping for a new washer and dryer from Santa but he didn’t deliver? Maybe you’ll have a lucky start to 2013 and you can win a set!

One lucky winner will receive an Amana Washer and Dryer of their very own!

This is a sponsored post and giveaway as part of a campaign with Amana and TodaysMama. All opinions are my own.

  1. Kim Olea says

My laundry is currently “in flux.” I started a load last night and need to move it to the dryer. Then, I am pretty much caught up, once i do sheets and towels.

  2. Lora W. says

Is it ever “all done”? I am just happy when the hamper is buried. I probably have 6 loads to do right now.

  3. Pam Spradlin says

I was waiting for the outside temp to get above freezing before I started my laundry for the week. I am now 3 days behind and the dirty laundry is building up.

  4. Kristen says

Is laundry ever really all done? Yesterday it was all washed, not folded but washed but of course today I have another load!

  5. Ann says

I so need a new set, dryer especially. Mine keeps snagging the zippers and such on my clothes and ruining them.

  6. katie s says

My actual dirty laundry isn’t too terrible, esp. since I’ve already got a load going this morning, but the clean laundry that is waiting to be folded is definitely approaching Mt. Everest proportions.

  7. Amy Gehring says

My laundry is always stacked up – doesn’t seem like I ever get caught up! Thanks for the chance to win. I’ve had my current washer/dryer for almost 19 years!

  8. Megan Timmers says

I had every intention of catching up on laundry on my days off during the holidays when my washer decided to act up. My washer and dryer are both hand-me-downs from generous family members, but I’m not quite sure how old they are. So to answer your question, unfortunately, not done like I was hoping it would be.

  9. Jennifer Calcott says

You have NO idea how much I could use a new washer and dryer. My washer (which is an Amana) does a fantastic job, my dryer on the other hand doesn’t dry so well so my laundry room looks like I don’t even own a dryer – Clothes are hanging to dry EVERY WHERE

  10. Christa says

I haven’t done laundry since before Christmas! Luckily my kiddos got some new clothes for Christmas to wear back to school today, otherwise they would be wearing their PJ’s!

  11. Lisa C Johnson says

At the moment my laundry is washed and stacked like Mt. Everest in baskets, on my love seat, and several places in my bedroom! I have no problem washing and drying, it’s the folding and putting away that I just can’t seem to do! Thanks so much for the chance to win!

  12. marylouh says

I’m going to need a new dryer soon. I still like a top-loading washer. Guess I’m old-school but I think they’re the best.

  13. says

Wow. We were just talking about needing a new washer, but how expensive they are now (as opposed to 18 years ago when we bought ours.) This would be a wonderful way to start the new year. Thanks for the option!

  14. Susan says

I am desperate for a new washer/dryer. My dryer is on its’ last leg! It takes 2+ hours to dry a regular load. Thank you for the amazing giveaway!

  15. Nikki says

I would love to win a washer/dryer. What an awesome give away!!!!!!!!! Whether I win or not….THANKS for such a fun give away opportunity!

  16. Porsche says

Laundry is NEVER done! Not with 3 girls ages 6, 4, and 11 months. And then my husband will pull out his smelly gym clothes. Ew. :)

  17. Amy Mueller says

Our washer and dryer just died. This would make life so much easier. The laundromat and I need to break up. For good.

  18. Tiffany H. says

With 3 little, messy boys, the current and forever state of my laundry is PILED UP HIGH!! Ahhhh it never fails… I can do 5 loads of laundry sometimes in a day and there’s always leftovers needing washed :-( My husband and I both agree we need two washers and dryers lol.

  19. Jen S. says

We are house hunting and would love to welcome ourselves with a new washer & dryer! Thank you for this great giveaway!

  20. says

Right now my laundry is EVERYWHERE. I’ve been sick and since I don’t own a washing machine/dryer, I haven’t had the energy to round everything up and get a ride to the laundromat (I don’t drive). Running out of clean underwear–UGH!

  21. Jean gearhart says

Great! Needing a new washer soon, the dial on our current one (7 years old) opts to only work when it wants to!

  22. Alyson L says

My laundry has been piling up because we don’t have room for a washer/dryer in my tiny apartment. I would love to win these for our new place that we’ll be moving to in a couple months!!

  23. Lisa says

25th wedding anniversary is on February 27th and the washer and dryer that I have now is also celebrating with us. A new washer and dryer would be awesome. Thank you! :)

  24. says

My laundry is partly done. But most times it is a huge mountain of laundry from the last two weeks that have gone by due to the time it takes to wash and dry the laundry in the first place! What a wonderful give away! Thank you for the opportunity to win.

  25. Eva Thompson says

My current status: piled up like Mt Everest! I’m a soon-to-be newlywed and we definitely NEED a washer & dryer. Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

  26. says

Oh yes! My laundry is Mt. Washmore right now. It usually always is. My washer and dryer are small and slow. This would be fantastic for our family of six.

  27. Kristen says

Winning this would be awesome! Our washer and dryer are so old and with a new baby it’s hard to clean all the extra dirty clothes. Would be an amazing gift!

  28. Jenn says

If you ever find a washer that will make you love doing laundry, please let me know! But I’d love to win a new one to at least help me not hate it. 😉

  29. mandi says

    mountains of laundry here-always!
i have some fancy front loaders a few years old and i just want a nice old fashioned washing machine again!

  30. Stephanie says

I would love to give this set to my parents who are in desperate need of a washer and dryer that actually work. Their washer must be run several times to drain all the water and the dryer can only run on fluff. Plus the added bonus of it being a top loader, they would love it!

  31. Katrina says

We are almost buried alive over here. With trying to finish our basement and having the washer unhooked on and off I feel like I will never check up. But I hope I win because more space in the washer and a faster drying time would help out a lot!

  32. Melissa Latimer says

This would be SO amazing to win. My husband has been laid off 4 times in the last 2 years )one was seasonal) but all from different companies. Needless to say any money that has been saved has been spent on necessities. We have been married for 6 years and are currently on our 3rd washer and dryer, all hand me downs bought on Craigslist or through repair shops. A new set really would be a great start to the new year! My laundry is never done cause honestly I am convinced my current washer doesn’t do the job.

  33. Jen says

These would be fantastic in our new home! My hubby and I are building a new house and are in need of a new washer/dryer set.

  34. Suzanne says

We have never owned our own washer and dryer (recent college grads and now grad school), and I would LOVE this!

  35. Christina H says

Perfect timing! My washer and dryer are getting up there in yes and just aren’t doing the best job anymore. With our family growing up, it’s makes for a whole lot more laundry! Anyways would love it if I won!!

  36. Stefanie Stratton says

Oh man, we SO need a new W/D set! we got ours as hand-me-downs when we got married and they have taken a turn for the worst!

  37. Amie says

I just had wrist surgery almost two weeks ago and have had a cast on and not been able to use my hand much so my laundry is stacked high! Hopefully tomorrow will find out if the cast can go and a splint used instead so I can start doing more, like the laundry lol.

  38. Kari says

I have 2 loads to fold, and I just heard the dryer jingle for my delicates load. Then I’ll be done, for today :)

  39. Amy says

Would love to win this! Our set is on its last leg. Our dyer died yesterday and the washer is rigged so that it won’t short out and stop after each cycle. Our laundry is stacking up fast with a 6 month old in the house.

  40. Rikki Lauer says

Our laundry is in baskets piled up! I can only do laundry once a week because I have to take it to the laundry mat! We don’t have a washer and dryer!! So, I would love to win this!!!

  41. Heather says

Wow, I could use this!My washer sounds like it is going to knock down the walls and take off every time I do a load of laundry.

  42. Renee Kern says

Would love to win this set!!! I am working on washing and drying our sheets, just changed the bedding. Also washed a mattress protector, hate trying to get that dry, maybe the Amana would handle that better!!

  43. Jesica White says

My laundry is never finished. Either washing my familys laundry or letting others come over to do theirs.

  44. Lauren Falco says

My dryer takes over 2 hrs to dry clothes and are constantly ending up mildewed, because I forget to restart the dryer the several times I need to in order to dry them. My washer is tiny and the temptation to overload it is always there! Hopeful to win this!!!

  45. Lindsay says

I have a toddler and a newborn that keep my washer and dryer busy. The washer now makes a terrible clunking sound and I fear the end for it is near…

  46. June says

WOW awesome giveaway!!!! Doing laundry as I read my email and don’t mind doing the laundry except for the putting away part!!! This would be fabulous to win as our set is 10 yrs old!!!

  47. Amy N in MO says

Would love to win!! With 2 active boys, the laundry is never done. There is always some in the washer, some in the dryer, most in the baskets, and a few folded waiting to be put away…Uggg

  48. MeLissa says

My set it almost 16 years old, and getting quite tired. My washing machine has recently started leaking a tiny bit, and my dryer is taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r to dry a load (even after they’ve been on the drying racks for a while). What a fantastic give-a-way! Best of luck to all who enter! :)

  49. Lisa V says

I love the fact that the washer is top loading. I have read many reviews about HE front loaders not being the “best” out there because they start to smell once the cycle starts, that’s it. Thanks for the opportunity!

  50. ColleenB. says

What a wonderful giveaway. Almost brought me to tears cause you have no idea just how badly I need a new set.
Bought my set used and I have had it going on 15 years.
The dryer no longer works so hanging up my clothes in spare bathroom and sounds like my washer is about to quit as well.
It’s just me and my husband so I do our laundry at least twice a week; more often in the summer months, cause I just can’t stand to have dirty laundry laying around.
Thank you for this great giveaway opportunity
    (got my fingers crossed)

  51. Emily says

If ever there was a contest I needed to win, it’s this one! We have been looking at a new washer/dryer for the past while but they are SO expensive. This one looks really nice!

  52. Sarah says

I have great intentions to do laundry at least once a week but… it usually gets done only when hubby runs out of socks. But I give myself points for then doing the laundry instead of just buying him new socks :)

  53. Sherrie Lamb says

I would love a new washer and dryer :) then I could donate my old ones to someone who doesn’t have any.

  54. Brenda says

My washer came with the house we bought 4 yrs ago. The house is 30+ years old. I know the washer is “THAT” old, but it’s darn close. I would love, love, love a new washer/dryer set. :)

  55. Jennifer Boggs says

Dryer broke right before Christmas so now I am going back and forth between my neighbors house drying laundry. I would love to win this so I can be assured I have a working washer and dryer

  56. Mycah says

Thanks for offering such a super give away! Actually, if I happen to win, I’m giving it to a family from church :)

  57. Sandra says

Would love to win this, my washer and dryer are very old and has seen better days. Love Amana products and glad to hear you are enjoying yours. Keeping fingers crossed that I will be the winner. Thanks for offering this great give away.

  58. shawn B! says

stacked up like Mt. Everest!!! waiting for apart to repair my dryer for the second time in asmany months!!! With 8 of us including a new baby its really hard to get somewhere to dry!!! my dining room has officially become my”drying” room!!!

  59. says

My laundry is always backed up, lol! I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids, you would think I could keep up with my laundry since I’m home all day….but as stay at home moms know, you work all day and can’t seem to keep up :)

  60. says

You know I just loved your blog even before you had this fun giveaway! It is one of my top 3 go to blogs. And I think you guys may live near me! Hmmmm But now with this giveway and a broken washer you guys are my #1! Happy New Year to you guys!

  61. says

I have perpetual Mt. Everest I think…4 adults all on different schedules and someone always leaves a load in the washer or dryer, or both! Happy New Year!

  62. says

Our washer and dryer are living on a prayer–we bought them off Craigslist when we bought our house three years ago! It would be wonderful to win :)

  63. Reggie Gutierrez says

My laundry is piled almost as high as me! With 3 kids in sports and a husband that coaches, my laundry is out of control.

  64. Teri Wilmarth says

It never seems to end!!! I’m always backed up on laundry. And my geriatric washer and dryer are on their last legs!! One by one, the features keep dying and I have fewer and fewer options!! The dryer door keeps popping open!! And we won’t even get into the stains from the washer drum!! It really needs to be turned in to an outdoor fire pit!! LOL!!!

  65. les says

Oh my! What perfect timing…our washer and dryer are on their LAST legs (or should I say spins). Keeping my fingers crossed!

  66. Miranda Mora says

My laundry status is somewhere right in the middle. I’ve currently got two loads to fold and put away (which is the most dreadful part in my opinion) and one or two loads that needs to go in. Not too bad, for me 😀

  67. Julie R. says

My husband and I were just admiring a set of these in the store a few days ago (wishing we could fit purchasing a set into our budget). The dryer we currently have is really old and has to be run multiple cycles before the clothes come out dry. I do laundry every Monday, but with a household of 5 soon to be 6 it piles up fast. It would save us so much time, energy, and money if we won this set! Here is hoping!

  68. Laura Bielefeld says

I would love a new washer dryer set! Our family of five has a lot of laundry! Our dryer is old and takes a long long time to get clothes dry.

  69. Beverly Becraft Blair says

This would be awesome and.loving the features of these.machines. I have been.pondering how I was afford my first washer and.dryer!

  71. shannon santos says

Awesome! We bought our house (built in 1984, so as old as we are!) in June, and I am fairly certain all the appliances are from the same year!

  72. Cheromee Warren says

The washer and dryer set sound amazing! We’ve also had our washer/dryer set since we got married (6yrs now) looking into getting another set soon! Fingers crossed!

  73. says

  74. TheresaSea says

My laundry pile is short, but we inherited an old W/D set when we bought this house…and are in desperate need of a new set!

  75. Denise Alberty-Small says

This will so great for whoever wins(I could only hope it would be me). We have 7 people using our poor old set. 2Would be nice to have them dry in less than 140 minutes!!

  76. Dawn Onuffer says

We are moving to a new house soon and leaving our old washer and dryer with our current house. We could sooooo use this!!!

  78. says

I’m spending my day today catching up on laundry after being gone for a week! And my washer is overly tired. It would love to be retired.

  79. jane d says

Could I ever use this! My dryer died on Father’s Day. Not a problem when the weather is nice, but up here in Washington it’s too cold now to hang the laundry outside, so I have a clothesline strung across my kitchen.

  80. Angela Talbott says

Woohoo! Great info regarding Amana. I like that they are both energy efficient and adjust.- Thank you for a great giveaway !

  81. Nicole Talbot says

  84. Angie Searle says

  85. Samantha K says

Today is laundry day around here! That means there will be a mountain of laundry to be folded and put away come nap time. Yay. I would love a new washing machine. Ours is very small, and not really very efficient. But, it works, so if I won I would gift it to someone who has entered this giveaway that is in dire need of a washing machine.

  86. Sara Goodspeed says

Doing laundry around here is a neverending task..With 4the growing girls in the house cleaning changing clothes more than twice a day. Half the time I can’t tell what is clean or dirty. Having these would be a God send..

  88. marla says

My laundry is folded and in hampers and the dryer. I do one or two loads a day so I am always doing laundry. It saves me stress.

  89. Anne says

My washer has been with my husband longer than I have… I agree that after years of faithful service they get tired. Looks like a great new one! I would love it. :-)

  90. says

Its as if the washer and dryer Gods heard my plea last night as the door to my extremely old washer broke. Maybe the raffle copter Gods will be good to me too! Here’s to hoping.

  91. susan H says

Laundry is a never ending cycle here it seems, try to play catch up on my days off and I can proudly state nobody ever runs out of socks or underwear lol.

  92. Ashley says

I made a sign this past fall “A load a day keeps Mt. Washmore away” …. I haven’t been very good at keeping Mt Washmore away since the Christmas gifts for a 2 and 1 year old have been a lot of pink clothes!

  93. Dee Parker says

I live alone, so I do laundry whenever I accumulate enough items for any particular load. It’s not very economical to do a bunch of small loads. So, I guess my answer is, all done.

  94. susan h says

Laundry is a never ending cycle here it seems, try to play catch up on my days off and I can proudly state nobody ever runs out of socks or underwear lol. (sorry used wrong email with my other post, so you can delete that one)

  95. Angela Hughes says

I would love to have a new washer and dryer, especially this pair! Would make doing laundry much more bearable!

  97. Ali Stewart says

I would love to win! We have been married almost 7 years and have never owned any! We are building a house and I can’t think of anything better than a new washer and dryer! I would be thrilled to win :)

  98. Erin says

We will be moving at the end of the year, and all we have is a borrowed dryer, and a washer we received 2nd hand from my grandmother! Definitely would love these!

  99. says

Laundry is somewhat done…..but when is it ever really DONE?! :o) I would love to have a new set! It takes my dryer 2 cycles (sometimes more) to dry a load!

  100. Shannon M says

I’m like you – I’ve had my W&D for over 12 years now and would LOVE new ones. I like the top loaders also since I always start a load and then find something along the way that I want to throw in. My mom is a raving fan of Amana and I’d be in heaven with a new set!

  101. Carolyn Wiebe says

Laundry….some day they will find me facedown in a pile of laundry. Constantly hanging over my head. At this exact moment my laundry is all clean and folded and almost all put away. The baby’s clothes had to be stuck in a basket instead of put away last night because she was in bed and NO ONE wakes the baby! :)

  102. Lindsay Mueller says

My laundry has to go through two dryer cycles just to get dry!
We were going to buy a new set this last year but I got sick
and hospitalized. So washer and dryer money is going to medical bills!

  103. says

I currently have a mountain of laundry needing to be tackled in the hallway… and folded clothing in baskets ready to be put away upstairs. With a family of 5 I can’t get away from all the laundry!!!

  104. Tonya says

Today is laundry day for me, which is a couple days behind due to the holidays. So, it’s overflowing the hampers.

  105. Tammy says

My laundry status is a nightmare. We nought a brand new set of front loading washer / dryer not 2 years ago. And on December the 28th my washer broke. I had purchased the 4 year extended warranty from lowes when I bought it. After calling them I have to wait until January the 14th for the repairmen to come fix it. Their are 4 folks in this household. I normally have to do at least one load every day sometimes 3. As it is nothing for my daughter to go through 3 outfits a day. So My laundry is a nightmare at thsi point. I plan to borrow my sisters washer tomorrow to get caught up hopefully. Now I have not been satisfied at all with my front loader. I think the clothes do not come as clean. My whites seem to be getting dingy. As their is no option of a soack cycle. When my washer dies for good and I have to buy another one . I will definitely keep your rave review of the Amana in mind. Thanks fo ra chance to enter the giveaway. conn_and_vans_mom(at)yahoo(dot)com

  112. Evelyn Kelley says

Laundry is stacked up like Camelback Mountain in Phoenix. Hopefully can get some done today… Would love to win this

I never have the laundry all done. Too many people wearing too many clothes for our small washer to handle.

  114. Genny C says

oh, I would love a new washer and dryer! the hubby and I were just talking about what was on my wish list for big house purchases!

  115. Renee Carnes says

Our laundry is mostly washed and dried. Probably have about one load. The issues are the folding of the laundry! It’s the worst part. And we only have a washing machine, so we are waiting until we have all of the clothes washed to head to the laundromat to dry and spending so much money on drying. I would definitely love a new washer and dryer!!

  119. Jen S. says

This would be SO awesome! I’m in the process of saving to replace my washer (crossing my fingers that I reach my goal before it gives out), so this would be such a PERFECT way to start the new year. I love how energy and water efficient they are – makes my goal of conserving more this year seem easier :)

  120. Karen Schroeder says

Laundry, you want to talk about laundry…there is always laundry piled up…it never ends. I wish it would stay piled up like a mountain…it just slides down from all the weight. I would love the Amana® top loader without the center post agitator…yea!!! I could actually do quilts at home! Love that it’s ENERGY STAR® qualified…mine, well… Thanks for the giveaway Amana® and Crafting Chicks!

  121. Amy says

Oh how lovely this would be if I won. My laundry is out of control cause the washer broke on New Year’s Eve and I don’t have money to buy a new one till match. I’m dreading the laundry mat!

  122. Amanda B says

There is always laundry waitin to be done @ our house. It doesn’t seem to matter that I do it everyday either!

  123. Becky C says

I would LOVE a new set! I have a “nice” set now, but the cycle time is SO LONG! :/ The first thing I looked for on this model, was the “quick wash” option! Love it! 😉 Thank you!!

    • Becky C says

Oops! I forgot to add…my laundry is completely caught up…for once! I was sick for 2 weeks and spent the entire weekend doing back to back loads! 😉

  124. says

  126. Cindy Edgar says

Our washer and dryer are close to 30 years old now. They are still kickin’ but we know their time is coming. A new set would be such a blessing to our struggling family!

  127. Debbie says

Some done, folded & put away. Some in basket needing put away, rest is in the floor waiting to be finished. I so need a new heavy duty machine; but what I need more than that is a laundry room makeover to bring things upstairs.

  128. Shannon Haubrich says

My laundry is never-ending! Between my son, hubby and 4 dogs, someone is always making a mess. I currently have a growing mountain which I will begin trying to tackle later today.

  134. Michele Trowell says

I need a washer/dryer. Haven’t had either in a long time. With a family of 7 it is a bear to haul all that laundry to the laundromat every few days… I did buy a refurbished washer/dryer set, that wasn’t so refurbished…. and the first time I used the washer it flooded my house & now we are in the process of replacing all the flooring……

  135. Leslie B says

I’m doing my after Christmas cleaning today and I was shocked that the biggest mess was the laundry! I have 9 loads to do today! Would love to win. Thanks for the opportunity!

  136. says

Definitely stacked up. Planning on getting to it today, but it won’t be until this evening. Now that I think about it, I’m an evening laundry washer. Interesting.

  137. Cristina T says

What an awesome giveaway !! I could really use this . Walking 1.5 miles to the laundromat is a bit annoying .

    God Bless!
    Amy Jo

  139. Anna Farrar says

I would love to win this for my parents they have never owned a set. I remember walking to the laundromat once a week with my mom. Now that they are getting older I really hate the thought of them having to ride the bus to and from the laundromat. This would be an amazing gift to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary this year! :)

  140. Pam F. says

Maybe winning a brand new set will end my cycle of dead and/or dying washers and dryers! I have had the worst luck with these appliances over the years…

  141. Jeanne J says

I would love to win! My dryer just went out for the second time this year! I have TWO Mt. Everest waiting to be washed! Just waiting for the repair man! Yikes!

  144. Tabitha P. says

kitchen & bathroom laundry laundry is washed, dried and put away. The other laundry is waiting to put away on our beds 😉

  145. Terry Carter says

If anyone ever needed a new washer and dryer at the present time, it’s me. My washer completed quit. I bought a used washer that I HATE. Then my dryer just stopped. My husband took it all apart and clean it up and put it back together, but I’m nervous and will only use it when I can keep an eye on it. Oh yeah, I need this new set.

  146. Terry Carter says

Oops, forgot what I was supposed to do. My laundry is EVERYWHERE. With the holidays and having kids with friends, I kinda just give up until there are fewer people in my house.

  147. says

I just barely finished the laundry over the weekend, but as I go around picking up the house.. The pile is starting to become Mt. Everest again! UGH!

  148. Rachel E. says

Thankfully, my laundry was done on the 31st so we could start the new year off right! HOWEVER, we are looking at buying (our first!!) house and this would be perfect to give that washer and dryer a good new home. So, it goes without saying…Please PICK ME!

  149. Rebecca Pruett says

My laundry is stacked up! The dryer doesn’t work properly so I have to run it at least twice to get laundry dry. That means that I always have a line of laundry baskets waiting for me!

  150. chrissy says

I would love a new washer and dryer. My clothes are never done. My set is over 13 years old so it takes forever to wash and dry!!

  151. barbara n says

I am happy to report that my laundry is all washed, folded and put away….quite the accomplishment for 1:40 in the afternoon!

  152. Rachel says

The washer and dryer we have is probably older than me! It takes our dryer at least 2 hours to dry a load of clothes… 3 if jeans! Gah! We’re newlyweds so a new pair isn’t exactly in the budget as we’ve both switched jobs recently. This is a great opportunity!!

  153. MaryB says

Can’t ever seem to gt completely done with laundry! What an awesome giveaway. Thanks for offering the chance to win.

  154. Kathy B. says

What a wonderful giveaway right after Christmas! An extra special gift for Mom! I sure could use a new set. Mine are about 12 years old! :( Thank You for the Chance and Happy, Happy New Year!

  155. -A says

For Christmas my husband gave me a year of spot treating our laundry, so we’re currently pretty close to caught up with washing. Folding is another story . . .

  156. Stacey says

My laundry status is good! I only wash once a week…on Fridays (unless we have something unexpected come up or traveling to do). Then I do 3-4 loads, & that’s my job for the day!

  157. Terra says

All washed & folded but NOT all put away:-( Great giveaway!!! We’ve had our current set for almost 15yrs and expecting them to kick the bucket any day!

  158. Jacky says

We have to do laundry every day due to our family situation, which is very wearing on our washer and dryer. We could really use a new set!

  159. Terri C says

My laundry is never caught up. I care for my 3yo granddaughter si I do hers as well as my family laundry. This would be a blessing.

  160. Missy Stennett says

My husband and I have a 2 1/2-year old who seems to have more laundry than the two of us put together. Everytime I think we’re caught up, another pile materializes. We’re doing pretty good right now, however…..only one small(ish) pile.

  161. Jean says

It has been rainy and cold here for days and days! Because of wet soggy dogs’ bedding and towels/kitties’ blankets/men(ofmylife)’s winter clothing/and the need to clean coops and take care of chores (whether it is pouring rain and cold or not), I am behind on laundry! I want to thank you for the wonderful giveaway ladies!! I would LOVE to win a new washer and dryer from Amana! And besides wishing everyone a Happy New Year, I would like to wish everyone GOOD LUCK with the giveaway!

  162. Jalene Stradling says

HUGE pile of laundry!!! Been with out a dryer for 9 months, so sick of crispy clothes!!! I would love a new washer and dryer!!! Please pick me!!!

  163. Laura Benoit says

Laundry for 7 is never ending. We currently have a load finished in the dryer, some ready to be folded, and some folded but not put away yet.

  164. cathy rice says

Oh Mercy this would be rockin awesome! Ok maybe that sounds a bit over the top but it would be soooo nice to have a washer that doesn’t leak all over the floor. Thank goodness hubby “fixed” it. Oh bless his heart. He doesn’t see any issues. That boy!

  165. Cathy says

Oh my goodness, laundry is never done at our home! With three families and 13 people living together, the washer and dryer never stop! I would absolutely love to have a new set…I’d even find somewhere we could hook it up! Thanks for giving me this chance to enter the contest.

  166. cathy rice says

Ok so I clicked in the wrong spot and my comment of that I ration laundry so I only have to clean up the wet floor every other day. So I always have piles of laundry to be done. It’s a system just not one I’m in love with!

  167. Ruth Stark says

I usually am able to keep on top of my laundry. When the bin gets full, time for a load. I would love to be able to compare this type of HE to the front-loading kind. I like that it is a top loader.

  168. Anna Hutchins says

What a nice givaway. Most is washed but I have a terrible time getting it all put away. It is in baskets everywhere. I made a resolution to get it put away Hope I can keep it.

  169. Michelle Montgomery says

Almost got laundry caught up and then the flu and a stomach virus hit our entire family. Slowly catching up!!

  170. Kristin T. says

The laundry is starting to look rather intimidating… Does it only happen to me or do yiu slso think that laundry does not need to be tackled over the holidays :-)

  171. nadine says

My basic laundry is all caught up. But I still need to strip all the beds and wash all the linens now that all the kids and family are gone after the holidays. I could ABSOLUTELY use a new washer, recently my detergent isnt always dissolving:(
Thank you for this faaaabulous giveaway. My fingers are crossed

  172. Amy Jones#8546 says

My laundry usually gets done on the weekend. I live with my in-laws at the moment and with so many in the house it’s the only time I can get to do it. So since it is mid week, my laundry status is filling up. My Husband is finishing our house very soon and this is one thing we are going to really need having two kids. I really would love to win this since I am not sure how long it will take us on our own to get our own set. Thanks for the chance.

  173. Carmen J says

My husband and I have been married for 15 years with 3 children. We are on our 3rd set of washer/dryer. I would love a good set!! Lots of laundry with 5 people.

  174. Shayna says

All done for now but that will change tomorrow. It’s the job that is never done! I love washing and drying but folding and putting away are a different story!

  175. Jennifer Wellman says

I have been tackling mt. washmore all day. It’s hard with 5 people to wash for and a small load washer.

  176. grace says

Hmm, well … I am not the best laundry keeper in our house. I should but it’s just not my cup of tea. So, the laundry are clean but it’s stacked up ready for me to fold and put away .. slowly :-) Thanks for this great giveaway – can actually use a new dryer since ours is been complaining a lot. Hopefully it’s not a sign that it will give up soon!

  177. says

I really hate laundry too… it almost never gets folded in my house unless my husband does it. I try….I really do….I just hate it so much! Laundry is one of my resolutions this year. Maybe a new washer and dryer would help me….but I may still just need a laundry fairy to visit every couple days

  178. Stacey says

We have never owned a new washer and dryer in 7 years of marriage- we’ve always had hand me downs. This would be wonderful!!

  179. Nicole Fairbanks says

This would be awesome, my current dryer has to run 2-3 times before things are dry, even small loads

  180. Karen Bibbee says

Oh how would I love to have new laundry machines! I climb Mt. Laundry every week. Laundry starts on Sunday afternoon and the laundry closes at 7pm on Tuesday. If it ain’t done it ain’t done!

  181. Holly J. says

I just finished putting away the last pile of folded laundry…which means the hampers are probably full again! I currently have one day a week where I can my mounds of laundry to my Mom’s house because although we’ve been married for five years and have two children, we don’t have a washer and dryer, yet! Thank you so much for the chance to win this!!!

  186. JackieToo says

Oh, to have these great and wondrous laundry aids! *sigh*

To answer the question, it’s not quite up to Mt. Everest yet…more like the Rockies. However, I’ve been wearing lots of layers since it got cold, so I can definitely see Everest on the horizon. :)

  187. Colleen says

With 3 boys I need all the help I can get. As for how it is now, clean and folded but alas just sitting in baskets on the floor.

  191. says

I actually did have a new washer on my Christmas list, but I didn’t get one =( I really want a high efficiency one so I can wash my comforter every week to keep dust mites and allergies at bay. My laundry situation is about thigh high, I can’t stand doing it because my current washer doesn’t ever get anything clean =(

  192. Debi Decker says

I have a front loading washer that is over 10 years old. I would love to go back to a top load. The front load has a gasket on the door that never seems to try out and it gets moldy and smells. I’m ready to go back to top loaders.

  193. Kelly Gresko says

My kids and I sometimes wear our jeans twice before washing.

  219. Jennifer P says

The never ending laundry pile……………. :) In all honesty – if I won these – I’d give them to a family who is struggling and really, really, really needs a washer and dryer. I’d love them for myself – but they truly need them more than I……………… fingers crossed for them :)

I soooo need a new dryer but more then me, my parents could really use a new set!! I was there for Thanksgiving and I don’t typically do Laundry while on vacation but my 2 year old decided to get sick so I had to. It took 3 times to spin most of the water off the clothes and blanket and even then they were still super wet. Then drying took almost 3 hours to get them dry. I hope I win this giveaway!!!
