Today I am sharing my tooth fairy pillow tutorial with you.  I have 2 six year olds that are just beginning to lose their teeth.  I’m sure by next Christmas, they will be singing “All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth.”

When I was little my mom made me a tooth fairy pillow.  I still remember it and hope it is safely in my keepsake box.  It was a blue pillow, the shape of a tooth with a mini pocket on top.  I LOVED my little pillow.  I knew I had to make one for my little ones one day.  So here is my version…can’t wait to share it with you.

I made the girl pillows first.  Great girl fabric is easy to find…boy fabric can be tricky.  I LOVE the designs at Riley Blake.  I fell in love with the SUPER STAR COTTONS to use for the boy tooth fairy pillows…love love love it!

For the Tooth Fairy Pillows, YOU WILL NEED:

-2 squares sized 7 1/2 inches (coordinating patterns)

-2 squares sized 5 3/4 inches (same pattern)

-Felt for the mini pocket (you choose the color)

-Tooth shape (small and large) You can download my tooth pattern below:)

I used an electronic cutting tool to cut out iron on fabric into a tooth shape, as well as the name

-Name (you can use iron on letters or and electronic cutting tool to cut out the name)

-Ric-rac, ribbon, or a ruffle to add to the pocket

-Great fabric scissors (a must with all sewing)

-Ribbon to hang the pillow (about 10 inches)

-Polyester fiber fill

I was wondering, for the little tooth on the felt tooth, what kind of fabric did you use and how did you attach the tooth to the felt?

    Thank you!

I am making these now for 2 grandkids who are turning 5 this year, just curious, did you use a 1/2 inch seam allowance? That is what it looks like to me but want to make sure. Love the pattern!

      Melissa,
I had a hard time trying to print this too, but then I figured it out, here’s what you do:
After you click the link to download Tooth Pattern don’t open it (it is zipped), go to your downloads and find the folder for it (mine was labeled tooth fairy pillow pattern), right click the folder and click extract all, it then will extract the pattern and open it, then you can print it from there.
      I hope this helps!

      Melissa,
Also to print out the directions, you click on the step one image and it puts the steps and picture on a new page, but really small, just click the picture again to make bigger and then right click and print and that’s it.
