Mother’s Day Card & Kid Craft

I love handmade cards…espcially ones my kids make. Since Mother’s day is right around the corner, my kiddies and I had a crafty afternoon making these cards for their grandmas. I have seen flowers made from cupcake liners and thought this would be a perfect place to make and use them!

How to make :

We started with a regular 8.5 x 11 sized scrapbook page & folded it in half to make the card. (it’s a big one:)  We then covered the front of the card with another piece of colored paper sized 4.5 x 7.5 inches. I used a photo corner punch to make the rounded corners.

To make the flowers, fold the cupcake liners in either 1/2 or 1/4. We used 3 halves for the small liners & 4  (1/4 pieces) for the big liners. The trick was fluffing the paper after we glued them down…definitely fluff! Then add a colorful button in the center. You could also add a photo in the center:)

Using the decorative Masking tape, make your stem and tape down your cut out word art. I LOVE this decorative tape….I {heart} the gingham pattern}

We cut out green leaves to add to our flower.

The kiddos were pretty darn proud of their cute cards…they really did it on their own after I showed them one! The dot runner & glue dots made it a cinch!
