Hey all my Crafting Chick Friends! I’m Liz from Liz on Call and I’m super excited to be sharing this fun activity as part of the Mother Hen series. These color by numbers printables are a perfect activity to keep the kids (and maybe mom) entertained during those long summer days.
This week we are talking color! I am a huge fan of color and love using it in my home decor, printables, and crafts. And lucky for me, my kids love color and art as much as I do! Coloring together is one of my daughter’s favorite things to do. So I thought that it’d be fun to create some color by number printables that my kids and I could color together.
Besides crafting with my kiddos, one of my favorite past times is doodling. I used some of my doodles to create these color by numbers printables for kids. I wanted to keep things simple for younger artists, and went with the basic 6 colors found in the color wheel. Of course other colors could be substituted, but you can’t go wrong with the classics.
If you have a child who doesn’t read yet but can recognize matching numbers, color in the circles with the corresponding color and see if they will be able to complete the activity by recognition. And if you have a child that just likes to color and doesn’t care about numbers, let them just color as their heart desires. Art is all about breaking the rules anyway. 🙂
My daughters loved these color by numbers printables. My little girl could not wait to get her hands on the Under the Sea page. She just loves mermaids and instead of using crayons or colored pencils, she decided she wanted to paint her color by number page.
Anyway your little artists decide to complete these color by number printables will be amazing. And it will keep them happy and entertained. At least for an hour. Haha!
Thanks for letting me share this fun activity with you today. I’d love for you to stop by and say hello over at Liz on Call.
