Pixar Fest vs. Pixar Pier – What You Can Find at Both
Hi everyone, it’s Kimberly with Get Away Today here to talk about all things Disneyland. 2018 is going to be unlike any other at the Disneyland Resort. With festivals, celebrations and magic throughout the year, you won’t want to miss out on your chance to experience it all. Two of the most anticipated events this year is the premier of Pixar Fest and the grand opening of Pixar Pier. If you’re not sure what the difference between the two is, don’t worry. I’ll give you all of the details below to fill you in on the excitement.
What is it?
Pixar Fest is a celebration of love, light and friendship that includes all of your favorite Pixar characters. It’s the first ever completely Pixar themed celebration at the Disneyland Resort. Not only will you be able to experience new décor, but you can also expect to see new dining options and character meet and greets as well. Plus, you’ll be able to enjoy brand-new entertainment, in addition to some of your favorite parades making their return. Relish in an all new nighttime show, “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular.” This nighttime spectacular is an immersive show that will display pyrotechnics and projections throughout the Disneyland park.
In addition to this, you’ll be able to catch the return of two of the most beloved Disney parades. The first parade that will make its return will be the Paint the Night Parade. Unlike Disneyland’s 60th celebration, this parade will make its first appearance in Disney California Adventure. Another parade coming back is the Pixar Play parade. The Pixar Play parade will now debut in Disneyland, with some familiar and new faces as well.
Pixar Pier on the other hand, is a new land and should be considered permanent. Well, as permanent as anything at Disneyland is. It will debut the Incredicoaster, formerly known as California Screamin’, new shopping, dining and character experiences. In addition to the new attractions, you will also be able to explore new neighborhoods based on some of your favorite Pixar movies. While all the information has not been released, we know that an Inside Out addition will be coming, as well as renovations to Mickey’s Fun Wheel. This new area will be revamped to give guests an all-new Pixar experience.
When is it?
Pixar Fest will be the first ever Pixar themed celebration to debut at the Disneyland Resort on April 13th. While we aren’t sure about how long this event will last, we believe it will go throughout the spring, summer and part of fall. However, as soon as we get new information, we will update you.
Pixar Pier will open on June 23, 2018.
