Homemade Skookies
In college our favorite pizza restaurant served the best pizzookies. Pizzookies = pizza + cookies and man were they good. I think there was probably a lawsuit involved and they changed the name to Skookies. Skookies = skillet + cookies and they are still good, so whatever you want to call this dessert of deliciousness is okay by me. Here’s how we make Homemade Skookies.
The secret is a little cast iron pan that you cook the cookie dough in. It keeps the cookie hot while you are eating it. I’ve tried adding ice cream to cookies on a plate and making individual skookies for my kids, but the cookies cool down fast and it just isn’t the same without the cast iron skillet.
To make your own Skookie, you’ll need a mini cast iron skillet, your favorite cookie dough, vanilla ice cream and toppings. our favorite cookie recipe to use is our Oatmeal Coconut Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe, but really haven’t found a cookie recipe that didn’t work.
Homemade Skookies
Step 1:
Add cookie dough to the pan and smash down, covering most of the pan but not all. The dough will spread as it cooks and you don’t want it to overflow. Cook according to your cookie dough recipe.
Step 2:
Top with vanilla ice cream.
Step 3:
Top with caramel and hot fudge. Hand our spoons and dig in!
Our pan holds 4 cookies worth of dough so there is enough for everyone to enjoy! It doesn’t take long before the pan is looking like this.
