TIC TAC TOE Backyard Bean Bag Toss
We are thrilled to have Jen from Pink When kick off our summer series with our theme In the Back Yard. We love this big Tic Tac Toe game for back yard fun!
Raise your hand if you love to play Tic Tac Toe? It never fails, every time my family and I go to a restaurant, the kids and I always have a tic tac toe game going until the food arrives. Is that your family to? Well I have an awesome outdoor tic tac toe game I am going to share with you today. This simple Tic Tac Toe Backyard Bean Bag Toss game is so easy to make! In fact, it only takes a few items on hand to create this simple backyard game. I also love that it’s light weight and can be moved indoors if needed. Are you ready to make your own Tic Tac Toe Backyard Bean Bag Toss?
First, let me introduce myself: My name is Jen, and I blog over at PinkWhen.com. I am super excited to be invited back to the Crafting Chicks again this Summer to share with you another fun DIY craft. I hope you will enjoy this Tic Tac Toe game as much as we do.
To make this super simple game, you will only need to have a few supplies on hand. It’s easy and light, so you can play this outdoors, and {BONUS} bring it all inside without any heavy lifting if it starts to rain. Here is what you will need to have on hand:
- 20″ x 30″ foam board (you can pick these up at your local craft store)
- colorful Duck Tape
- bean bags
Take the Duck Tape and start creating your grid. It’s really easy to make the hashtag grid, and you can do it in just a few short minutes. Measure the tape and make sure you cut all of the pieces to be the exact same size for the perfect grid.

Once you have all of the pieces cut, go ahead and place these onto the foam board and create the hashtag grid.
Optional: If you have a Silhouette machine or any other cutting tool, you can also create a fun little banner at the top of the board.
After you have your grid in place and any additional embellishments to the board, it’s time to grab the bean bags and play!

I love this super simple project, and everyone loves to play tic tac toe! This is one of my favorite projects because of how easy it is, and the game is a little more challenging because your throw has to be “spot on” to land in the square in the grid you are looking for.
I hope you enjoyed this super simple Tic Tac Toe Backyard Bean Bag Toss. If you loved this, you might also like simple DIY Outdoor Cornhole Game.
Or if you are looking for a larger project, try making an outdoor burlap covered tee pee! The kids will have a lot of fun playing in a tee pee this Summer.

This is so cute! I’m looking to DIY some yard games in the next couple weeks since we all moved into a bigger house in the suburbs. This will be perfect for the little ones. Thanks for sharing 🙂
