HedBanz has quickly become a family favorite at our house. Because of that, I created a Valentine’s version for Family Night this week.
It was an instant hit. Now we are excited to share it with you.
Why Valentine’s HedBanz Is a Must-Play Game
This Valentine game keeps kids engaged. It also builds important language skills.
Kids ask questions. They listen carefully to clues.
They think critically about categories. And they celebrate every correct answer.
This game works for many ages. Little kids can play with help.
Older kids love racing the timer. Everyone gets a turn.
How to Play Valentine’s HedBanz
If you are not familiar with HedBanz, here is a quick breakdown.
Each player wears a headband. The headband holds a card in front of the forehead.
You do not look at your own card. Everyone else can see it.
The goal is simple. Figure out what you are.
Players ask yes or no questions. It feels similar to the game 20 Questions.
However, this version adds excitement. You race against a timer.

Game Setup
Each player gets their own card. Cards slide into the slit of the headband.
If you own the HedBanz game, use the adjustable headbands. They fit kids comfortably.
If not, you can improvise easily. Elastic or adjustable headbands work great.
Place the card between the forehead and the elastic. The picture cards stay secure during play.
How a Turn Works
Start the timer.
The first player begins asking questions.
Questions help narrow down categories.
For example, “Am I food?” or “Am I red?”
Other players give clues.
They answer only yes or no.
If the player guesses the correct answer before time runs out, they grab another card.
They keep going until the timer ends.
When time expires, it is the next player’s turn.
The game moves quickly.
What Happens on Your Next Turn
When play comes back around, you continue where you stopped. You keep asking questions about the same card.
This keeps the game fair. It also builds anticipation.
Kids stay engaged even when it is not their turn. They love helping give clues.
Why This Game Is Great for Kids
This Valentine’s HedBanz game encourages communication. Kids practice asking clear questions.
It strengthens vocabulary and reasoning. Those language skills matter.
It also promotes turn-taking. Kids learn patience while waiting.
Plus, it is just fun. Laughter always fills the room.
Perfect for Classroom Valentine Parties
This game works wonderfully at school. Teachers love how simple it is.
You can play in small groups. Each group uses one timer.
The picture cards are clear and friendly. Preschool and elementary kids can play.
This is also great for indoor parties. No mess required.
What’s Included in the Free Download
The download includes everything you need.
You will receive:
- Two pages of Valentine HedBanz picture cards
- One page printed on the back of the cards
The back page helps prevent cheating. Because let’s be honest, kids get sneaky.
Print the cards on white cardstock for best results. They will hold up better during play.
Printing and Using the Cards
Print the cards at home. The file is a simple PDF.
Cut out each card with scissors or a paper cutter. Store them together for easy access.
You can reuse them year after year. Just keep them with your Valentine games.
Creative Headband Alternatives
If you do not own the HedBanz headbands, no worries. You can easily make your own.
Use elastic headbands or adjustable headbands. They work just as well.
Slide the card between the headband and the forehead. The card stays visible.
This makes the game budget-friendly. No special supplies required.
Why Families Love This Valentine Game
Parents love how quick it is. Kids love how silly it feels.
It works for Family Night. It works for parties.
It works for classrooms. It even works for playdates.
This Valentine’s HedBanz game brings everyone together. That is always a win.

I’m able to download this without a problem but I can’t seem to print it. It only prints page 1 and page one only prints the top left corner of the page. I’ve tried several things with the same results. Can you help?
What program are you using to print? Adobe Acrobat?
Can’t get the download to work either. Earlier today it started to download, but was slower than molasses. Said it was going to take over an hour (I have a fast connection, should have taken seconds.) Now, I clicked download and it’s stuck on this page, but won’t open. http://www.mediafire.com/download/ag5xeu218408681/valentine_hedbanz_all.pdf
