There’s a big football game coming up on Sunday, maybe you’ve heard? I have a bunch of football fans in my house, and while non of their teams are playing this week we’ll still be watching while snacking and judging the commercials.

I picked up a few things from Michael’s to set the stage for the smorgasbord of potluck items that will appear Sunday afternoon.

We’re offering the football play backdrop as a free download a little later on in the post. And while I was at the grocery store picking up items I grabbed a few black and white balloons.

I hung a green tassel banner along the top of the backdrop. If your team is playing go ahead and decorate with their colors. The green tassels reminded me of grass and pom poms and add a great texture.

The table is covered in green wrapping paper that I also picked up at Michaels.

The final touch was adding these football picks to the meatballs. I found these scalloped flag toothpicks and used a white chalk marker to write on them.

Download the backdrop below and have printed as an engineering print from your local print shop. It is sized at 24×36″. The less expensive route is to opt to have it printed as a black and white engineering print, but with all of this black you may want to pay a couple extra dollars and print as a colored print. Although there isn’t any color the print will still look better. I printed one of each to see and the black and white version wasn’t very good. The black and white was around $3 and the colored print around $5.
