Cookies and Cream Football Dip Ingredients
You only need a few simple ingredients to make this crowd-pleasing dessert:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- 16Â Oreo cookies
- 12 crushed into crumbs
- 4 set aside for coating
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- Pretzels, apple slices, or graham crackers for dipping
You may also use low-fat cream cheese if desired. The texture stays creamy and delicious.
How to Make a Cookies and Cream Football Dip
Step 1: Mix the Cream Cheese Base
Start by adding cream cheese and butter to a large bowl. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Next, add powdered sugar and blend well. This creates the sweet cream cheese mixture.
Set aside a few tablespoons of the white mixture. You will use this later for football laces.
Step 2: Add the Oreo Crumbs
Crush 12 Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. A ziplock bag and rolling pin work great.
Fold the Oreo crumbs into the cream cheese mixture. Stir gently until fully combined.
Step 3: Shape the Football
Lay a sheet of wax paper on the counter. Scoop the mixture onto the center.
Use plastic wrap or your hands to shape a football. Smooth the sides of the bowl shape as you go.
Once shaped, place the football on wax paper. Chill briefly if the mixture feels soft.
Step 4: Coat the Football
Crush the remaining Oreo cookies into crumbs. Mix with cocoa powder in a small bowl.
Gently coat the football with the Oreo crumb mixture. Press lightly to help it stick.
This gives the dip that classic football look.

Step 5: Add the Football Laces
Place the reserved cream cheese mixture into a piping bag. A zip-top bag works just as well.
Snip the corner with scissors. Pipe football laces across the top.
This final touch brings the entire Oreo cheeseball together.

Step 6: Transfer and Chill
Trim the wax paper around the football shape. Carefully transfer it to a serving platter.
Refrigerate until ready to serve. This helps the dip hold its shape.
What to Serve with Oreo Football Dip
This dip pairs well with many dippers. Choose one or offer a variety.
Great options include:
- Salty pretzels
