We only had one extra squirt bottle on hand, however if you have multiple it will make it much easier. The less you water down the liquid watercolors, the more vibrant the space background will be. Pour the liquid watercolor into each the spray bottle. Make sure you have a plastic tablecloth or do this step outdoors. Have the kids spray both purple and blue liquid watercolors over the white piece of card stock. Let the paper dry. Doesn’t it look like a galaxy?!

Using a pencil draw planets, stars, a spaceship, moon, etc. Trace the pencil with black glue. To make the black glue, pour black acrylic paint into a 3/4 full white glue bottle. Shake and mix the paint and glue together.

Let the black glue outline dry throughly before moving on to the final step. We tried both sharpies and crayons to color in our solar system drawings and found that crayon worked the best! Have kids fill in their black glue drawings.
